philfell
Just wanted to say the Park City crew will be doing some races in Europe next week. If you are at any of these events, introduce yourself and say hello. We will be at Bischofswiesen on Jan 13/14, Adelboden Jan 15/16 and Nendaz Jan 18. oldkey
....please tell Garrett and the team good luck. Have an awesome time. In addition, would you please take notice of various Euro races coming up that might allow kids. We are still looking for a possible venue to allow kids that are not FIS eligible to race for the USASA All American Team.
philfell
As far as I know there isn't anything for kids younger than FIS age. You should get some people together and organize one. It would be easy to contact each countries governing body and send invites to the countries. Make up general age groups and say each country can send four athletes per gender per disapline, the host country get an additional four spots per gender per disapline. You would probably be surprised on the response you'd get.
oldkey
we talked about trying to add an alpine event to Trofeo Toloplino and they said no.....so we will probably do as you suggested next year. Jess is knee deep in the Sprit Mountain Revolution Tour and I don't know if planning another event is in the cards. I wish that Trofeo Topolino still had alpine. Since this is the first year that slopestyle and alpine is being added to the team, we were hoping to take the easy road and find a race. But yes.....we all know we need developmental races....it's probably time to create one.
philfell
Yeah there's no way to get it going for this season, but if you want to do something next season you need to lay the ground work this season. Especially if it's truely going to be an international event you need to get the word out to other countries by the end of this season so they can get the word out to their clubs this summer and set up a way to qualify their athletes. If you wait till the summer to get the ball rolling it will probably be too late. Plant the seed early.
