lonerider Posted March 19, 2004 Report Share Posted March 19, 2004 Hi, I just got a pair of Oxygen Protons and am trying to figure out how to work the spring mechanism in the back. The only other boots I've had where Raichles. But I think the Northwave, Head boots and regular ski boots are similar. The latch flips open and there is a dial with a +/- sign. Does that adjust the amount of forward lean I get with the boot? and the spring is pre-tensioned, or does that tighten/soften the spring or something? Chris Houghton Posted June 15, 2004 Report Share Posted June 15, 2004 If you change to the 5 position mechanism on your AF700's, you may want to keep the old spring mechanism around for a while because you will probably find it works better. If adjusted properly (and some like to remove the rear flex limit by cutting the collar off of the adjuster) it gives a much smoother even flex than the 5 position part.
