dshack
A friend of mine in Eugene, OR asked me about what the best step up from a very entry-level 149cm morrow freestyle board would be for her. She's about 115lb, and can handle intermediate terrain fairly well, though she doesn't go terribly frequently, and isn't much of a daredevil or speed freak. I lent her my 156cm salomon freeride board last time we went up, and she liked the stability and speed it gave her, but I think she had a hard time flexing it. I was basically going to point her to a late-model/used women's board in the 150-155cm range, probably from Burton, Ride, Palmer, or K2. Anyone have thoughts about particularly good ones, or something in that range lying around the house?
k2slopesurfer
http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/Ride-Solace-Womens-2007-1927.asp fun board, not for aggressive riders, but great for a woman who cruises or doesn't get out often http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/2007-Plamer-Touch-Womens-31404.asp i tried this one a few years bask, liked it fine, palmer has some great bases, and for the money this one rocks http://www.summitonline.com/78687.html the atomic boards are well constructed and the tika is my pick for their intermediate womens board also, if you can find a k2 luna for a good price, that was one of my favorite boards ever, i'm just past it now for reference when i demoed most of those, or owned in the case of the luna, i was at an intermediate level, and didn't get out often cause i lived in new orleans. as for burton, the feather, or feelgood are solid, unfortunately, i'm too strong for the feelgood, or feelgood es in my size, so my softie board atm is a customx a couple other solid, lower cost brands are option ( i looved the bella) and omatic... 2nd year out... i tried the tara dakides model last year and it was awesome, but i think the int board is called the benatar, last year they were dist by sports authority, but i think evogear in seattle has em now. happy hunting
