  1. ....happened to be channel surfing tonight and caught the Donek shirt he was wearing, did a quadruple take when I saw him wearing the shirt in the opening credits and had to rewind to be sure. Had check BOL to confirm I wasn't seeing things! If that was a Nike shirt I'm sure it would have been blurred out.

  2. (EDIT: ITS A 176 NOT 178)Typical top skin scrapes and it could use a basic tune up. No core shots. Trying to thin down the quiver from 3 boards to 1, this is the first to go as I only used it one day, and I have hardly ridden the last couple seasons. I picked it up used a couple seasons ago. See pictures. Asking $180 plus shipping. If you are seriously interested, make an offer I may take it.

  3. Burton Custom Freeride (3 buckle soft) bindings Size M for sale. I don't recall what a M will fit, but definitely not my size 13's! I'm sure someone here or a search on the internet would yield the answer to that. No discs, but they are the same discs that Burton soft bindings use. Search here, on the 'bay, or a dealer to get them. One of the two screws and a washer that holds one of the top straps is missing, easy to pick up at a hardware store. As pictured. The top strap can be removed to convert to a more traditional soft binding. The two lower straps are integrated on one tongue piece. This is the latest model of three buckle binding that Burton made before ceasing production, the evolution of the original system and flex binding. I'm in Edwards, CO, near Beaver Creek, so you can pick up and pay cash if you are local. Otherwise, USPS money order or PayPal is fine. Accepting offers, would rather sell here than throw them on the 'bay.

    Thanks! -chris

  4. Hi! I have a 4H insert for my burton cant plate, however, I need a 3D one, or, I would also consider a whole complete disc/cant, as long as its a solid one and not a vari-cant. If you have a complete cant, I would prefer a round one over that funky rectangular-like one, but beggars can't be choosers. I can do paypal, or a USPS money order, or if by a complete stroke of luck that you happen to be in the Edwards, Vail, or Beaver Creek, area of Colorado, I can pickup/meet you and pay you cash.

  5. David, I may have a pair you can use, depending on the size you need. I have the later version, I think it was called the 'Custom Freeride' at the time it was produced. It is a Medium, it is blue. The difference between this and the torque is that instead of the two individual straps at the bottom, it has one tongue that attaches with two straps on one side and two buckles on the other side. Of course it also has the upper strap for the leg giving you more support than a 2 buckle setup. Asking $50. Shoot me an email if you are interested, I can also email you pix.

  6. I've got one in greeat shape. Cosmetically almost perfect, 2 or 3 very minor scratches in topsheet, barely discernable pressure marks from binding, bottom and edges perfect, I doubt its been riddden more than 3 days. Shoot me an email with an offer if interested.

  7. Willy- Nah, you got me confused with someone else. We have not yet met in person, although if my name rings a bell its because we have participated on several of the same threads...... (See: "Beep like a jeep", and "Gondola problems").

I finally got my powerboat in the water on Sunday, I'm usually terrorizing the waters of Lewis Bay, Hyannis Harbor and Hyannisport Harbor on a regular basis in the Summer.

Email problem should be fixed now, if not, ypu can email me direct, longboard AT comcast DOT net. We'll catch up with each other at some point, I live about 100 yards from the "Voodoo Lounge".

    See ya 'round the 'hood.

Willy, you shoulda seen how deep the snow drift was up against your "home away from home" this winter. It was amost completely buried in a snow drift with all the snow we had.

Give me a heads up sometime when you are down at your buddies on Ocean St, I'd love to meet up with you sometime as I live around the corner, The first thing I thought of last weekend when I saw a kite in the air from my backyard was if it was you that was out on the water at Kalmus.

The telltale sign that photo was Kalmus was the M/V 'B'Eagle in the background.

The only other person I've seen ride a board sideways without use of their legs is Jesse Horn from Jackson Hole. He has no legs from the hip down and he uses his hands for outriggers. He can carve really well ... uses an ultra long board.

I taught snowboarding at NSCD all winter, and usually those without use of legs are talked into a mono ski set up.

But it's so COOL. I'm going to show it to the adaptive division at Nationals. How can they learn more?

Cindy, I sold a snowboard to a guy named Tom who wanted to try adaptive gear on a snowboard. Here is his website if you are interested to try and contact him. Maybe he has it dialed in by now. http://www.sitski.com/

  10. ....and as wavechaser said, use the right tape so it will release without issues.

I don't tape over the edges, but what I do with the tape is go along the sidewall with the tape, up to where the sidewall material meets the metal edge. This way, when you melt all the wax on, any overage will go on the tape, not the actual sidewall, making it easier to take the wax off of the sidewall as it is on the tape.

I've pondered using 3 in 1 or similar product as D-Sub suggested, but I'm also not sure if it will harm the base material long term. I suppose if you were patient enough to apply a thin coat of oil with a Q-tip it may be ok, rater than squirt or spray it on.

Make sure the base is clean and DRY and free of any salt residue from any of those road trips up and down I-93, I-95, and I-89. Oil/petroleum resists water, so maybe a quick trip to the local ski shop for base cleaner will help get any crud and excess moisture off of the edges as well.

One thing people think I am a little over the top about is storing the board in a controlled environment, I.E; not in the basement, attic, or garage, where temperature and humidity extremes happen in the summer. I dunno if you are near the NH seacoast or not, but I live next to the ocean and I have no garage to worry about, and storing them in the attic or basement is definitely a no-no. Mine go under the bed or in the closet. I don't store the boards in a travel bag short OR long term because any moisture in the bag will be trapped and has no where to escape to, which will accelerate any corrosion issues.
