I will be out Dec 10th, lets hope they get some more snow by then.
I would highly recommend you consider the Snow Performance Carving Camp that starts on Thursday the 16th, always a good time.

I am surprised by the number of fellow engineers posting here, I wonder if there is something about carving that attracts us to it?

Yes, there is good cell coverage.

Too bad our dates didn't coincide, I just finished two weeks here. I think I was the only carver on all these wide open groomed runs.

I might be interested in selling a set and you won't have to worry about border issues. Turn on your private messages in your profile.

Maybe - depending on the weather

I sent you an email about a pair of Head Stratos size 28.

It seems to me, that a lot of wheel recomendations are based on marketing and appearence. There are a number of scientific measurements on the web like the following that show that some of the more popular wheels are not really any better than others.
Michelin ProRace 2s are a little lighter than their Krylions if you want to give up some
durablilty for racing.

I think I have seen you there, without the SB clothes and helmet, I couldn't figure out where I had seen you before.
I bought the Synapse 2 last week. I thought about the R1000, and almost bought
a used one in Burlington, couldn't quite justify the price of a new one. The slightly more upright frame of the Synapse was recommended for mature ;-) riders like myself.
BTW, I bought a condo out a Sun Peaks in BC, if you are ever thinking about going
out to BC, other than Whistler, we should talk.
You should be able to send me an email thru my profile page, I noticed yours is turned off.

Derf,
Needless to say, that was an expensive repair - even though she works part time at a bike shop.

I have spent a lot of time in Burlington bikes stores lately, (just bought a C'dale road) which store does she work in?

I flew competitive RC aerobatics and helicopters at the national and international level
until I gave it up ten years ago and took up carving.

I was there to see the Sun Peaks Speed Skiing, it was amasing how fast they picked up speed and how fast they need to slow down to turn at the bottom.
Justin Garey (a Sun Peaks ski and snow board instructor who helps out with the Snow Performance carve camp), set a personal best by breaking 100mph.
He then went to Europe and now holds the Canadian Ski speed record.

Anyone know what the difference is (besides color) between the two models?

I think you have mixed up Beaver Creek and Beaver Valley.
Chris coaches at Beaver Valley near Toronto.

I believe that the new disc is spacer that is bolted below the existing TD2 disc with the
provided longer bolts. Since the binding floats around the discs, it will not put a lot
of preasure on the edge of the disk like the TD1s, which is what caused the top
sheet damage. The provided neoprene pad goes below the existing TD2 damping pad.
