  3. 188 cm Sims Burner in awesome condition. Board is super stiff and has no damage. Love this board but there are too many in my collection. It hasn't seen snow since 2013 now and at 150 lbs I'm a bit too light for it. Somewhat annoyingly, the previous owner put in an extra set of binding inserts behind the rear sets. It was done flawlessly and the inserts were epoxied in, though they never put p-tex patches back where they put in the insert. That leaves two nickel-sized holes in the ptex but it doesn't affect ride or board strength.

Asking $450 CAD but open to offers. Email marcus (dot) beaudry (at) gmail (dotcom). TD3 Step Ins in picture posted separately for $350 CAD. Shipping at buyer's expense.

  4. SOLD!!!

Too many skis and boards and not enough days on the slopes. Bought this board at the end of last season, then bought another board at the beginning of this season which I've ridden a lot more. Has a total of about 8 days on snow (I put on about 6 hours). Will send the board with fresh wax.

    Asking $100 + shipping

    Model Year: 2001

    Length: 158 cm

    Waist: 190 mm

    Radius: 8.85 m

Board's condition has not changed since it's original sale. Text from original 2007 add below:

There is a slight blemish on the sidewall

The board is in very good condition. It has no major scuff marks on the topsheet. I rode it maybe 5 days. I prefer GS boards.

There is a very shallow gouge on the base, but I don't think it impacts performance.

It has 17mm of camber when laid flat on the floor with no bindings. Volkl cores have a pre-milled camber, which is why they hold their camber well, and provide a huge amount of snap at each turn.

The board has an all-purpose linear-crosshatch base grind that is highly uniform. I have just tuned the base and edges. I waxed it with high temperature yellow wax, scraped the base, and brushed it. If you carve in a very cold area, you probably want to re-wax it with a low temperature wax before you ride it. It has edge angles of 2º, and base angles of 1º. The edges use a metal with a higher rockwell hardness, which means they stay sharper longer, and don't rust as easily. I have not detuned the edges. I also cleaned out the inserts with a bottoming tap.

  5. From a ski racing coach's perspective, Nakiska is difficult to get lane space at, especially in November and January. It's expensive and they're not the easiest hill to deal with. They're pretty strict on coach certifications (had to show my CSCF membership before) and they like to have waivers signed by all the racers. Thy're also not the easiest hill to deal with. I can see it being substantially more difficult if you're not renting lane space as one of the recognized Alberta clubs. The best day to get space would be Friday when KAST, NASA and BAR aren't in regular training. Norquay is easier to get lane space at and certainly more friendly. Marmot Basin is by far the easiest to deal with in the province, they usually let our club use a lane for free if we're there for the weekend. I would expect Castle to be decently accommodating as well.

  6. any one had experience riding on this board ?

I have a 158 in my quiver. Super lively board and that can crank out some obscenely tight turns. You have to be on top of it at all times. If you get lazy or get back, you'll find yourself on your head instantly. The board is a blast to ride, but only if you're not hungover. FYI, I'm 150 lbs.

  7. I get free lift tickets at Castle so I end up there ~6 days a year. I always seem to end up skiing there though, it's one of my storm chasing destinations. I only have carving boards in my snowboard quiver and I'm always hesitant to subject them to the minefield of rocks often hidden around Castle. I seem to travel with all my equipment these days though so I'll likely end up on my board down there for a day or two this year. I'll let you know!

  8. I have two sets of blue TD3 elastomers that I want to trade for yellows. One set has been used a decent bit but is in excellent shape, and one set has only been on snow a few times. Anyone want to trade? I would prefer to trade locally to save on shipping, but would consider shipping within Canada.

  9. It's not the customs fees that are the issue shipping UPS it's their in house brokerage fees which are separate from Customs fees. Canada Post and USPS don't have those fees.

UPS freight will end up with ~$50 additional in border clearance charges. If you ship UPS air, they charge a flat rate $10 brokerage charge. Basically UPS ends up being twice the cost as USPS Priority International. I've never received a lost or damaged package with USPS/CanadaPost, UPS has a score of 2 at the moment.

  10. I'm looking for a pair of TD2s or TD3s, step-ins or regulars. I'd rather buy from someone in Canada because shipping from the US adds $25-$45 to the price.

Would prefer 3/3 or 0/3 cants with yellow elastomers.

EDIT: I've got what I need now. Thanks!
