  1. I'll see what I can do, but Berkshire East is a bit far from me for a single day trip- it takes more than twice as long for me to get there as it does to Wachusett. I really would like to ride with experienced carvers though...

Go to the beast and make it a 2 day trip. There's a lodge right across the street that has very affordable rates.

  2. So I'm temporarily working out of Milford CT and there are a few ski hills within an hour of here. Of course I brought my board with me. Anybody ride in this area? Southington? Mohawk? Powder ridge?

  3. Uh-oh, Pat's down! Broken tib-fib at Stratton today. I'm sure he'll post more details.

That sucks. Was at eces this week and it was the first time back in hard boots since I broke my tib-fib last March. Wish you a speedy recovery Pat. Best advice is don't rush your recovery. It can cause more harm than good.

  4. Looking for a BX board preferably of modern construction. Current soft boot setups are a 168 MFR and 168 kessler ride. I'm approx 175 lbs. Broke my leg last March in Hardboots and am starting this season in softies. Leg broke at the cuff of the Hardboots and its still really tender there. Softboots are a little bit more tolerable. Lemme know what you have.

  5. Well, had my second check up today with the orthopedic surgeon and the leg is still aligned properly. I began PT about 1.5 weeks ago and I'm making progress. My range of motion in my ankle and knee is still pretty pathetic right now. Seems impossible to me to get to where I was before. I know I'll get there eventually but I'm not even close to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It's totally killing my golf season!!! Here's an X-ray from today's visit

  6. Not quite in a lift line, but 2 weeks after I broke my tibia/fibula I was having pretty bad pain and spasms from nerve damage. I went into urgent care to get a prescription to help with nerve pain. The physician I saw asked how I broke my leg and I told her snowboarding. She said that was interesting because this type of injury is more common with skiers. I then went on to explain what alpine snowboarding was and that I was wearing hardboots. She replied with confidence "oh, i know what your talking about, you ride a monoski!" I was in pain and drugged out and just replied "ya sorta."

  7. Wow that seems crazy to me. Do they turn away patrons that show up not knowing the mountain was rented privately? I'd be so pissed if that happened to me especially if I drove a long distance to get there. However that would be incredible to have a mountain with nothing but carvers.

  8. Ya unfortunately I broke my leg at hunter mountain a couple weekends ago. It was a stupid mistake and a freak accident. I'm recovering well thou and hope to make a full recovery for next season. No way I'm missing ECES.
