  1. I'm interested in trying hardbooting. I've tried the carving setup at a Pure Boarding camp before, but found the binding angles at the time to be quite uncomfortable.

I ride quite low binding angles and would like a boot with forward lean, but don't know how to go about looking for boots without needing modifications and/or without spending a ton of money just to find that it doesn't fit well (I have wide feet).

I've reached out to Phantom and the company behind Disruptive, but curious about any other companies that may partner with local retailers for demo days. I'm in SLC right now but will be in Tahoe later.

  2. I've been moving around quite a bit and figured I'd update.

    1. I've decided to go with the Coiler Contra for now and have been talking with Bruce, who's now back from his golf season 🙂

    2. @snowwjob1 - What's the difference between his boarder cross boards & how does it change with the Contra side cut?

OP only one post so don't know how valid this is, but IMO each of these boards have a little different focus within the common discipline of softboot carving. some may even say, completely different boards.

Coiler Contra - freecarve all mountain, directional, playful

Donek Flux -directional freecarve charger suited to race if need be

Knapton - freestyle freecarve, duck duck goose

or own. oes 162FR wide can be yours since i have one up for grabs if interested. SG soul is a keeper!

This was tremendously helpful; thank you 🙂

    4. I also figured if I'm getting a custom board from Coiler or Donek, I might as well get custom art so I've been working on that as well.

Thanks for being so friendly/helpful everyone
