I have a couple of pairs of Raichle SB series boots, one with some use and one like new.  They're the same mold as Deeluxe 225s, but with a different buckle type.  I'm looking for $125 to $175 plus shipping depending on condition.  I'm in Ohio, so shipping will be around $45 to the west coast.  By the way, that's my size too.  I tend to stock up on spare boots if I come across them cheap enough.

Holidays and a long death flu have had me off of here for a while and I am sorry to everyone who posted that I did not respond to. I am still looking for boots. Thank you Wolf for the response. Do you still have these boots? I am a lighter rider so think the 225s would be a good fit for me.

  2. I am in the Portland OR area looking for some 26.5 hardboots before the season starts!

    I have boots to offer:

These Burton Reactors were my first hardboots ever (only pair of hardboots at ski swap years ago) and I've been using them until...last season realized they were way too big for me (I know, I know). They are mondo 28 (US men's 10) and I wear a US men's 8.5 so am looking for a mondo 26.5 pair of hardboots (no wonder I kept catching my toeside...)

Can anyone use these boots? One of the straps at the top had it's velcro fall off but this can be solved with some glue. Everything else functional but I'd really like to trade them for some boots that fit me.

I also have some old Burton 3-hole plate bindings where one of the toe bail clips broke. They would be good for parts or bindings if the toe bail is replaced.

I would be grateful for your consideration if you see or have any 26.5 boots lying around. Also if you could use these 28 reactors and/or bindings. I'm on a budget and spent most my snow money on a Meadows pass this year so used/old/cheap is all good as long as they are functional. Thank you!

Apologies if I posted this in the wrong thread.

  3. Are you a passholder at Timberline or Mt Hood Meadows?

I don't dare forecast, I can only tell you this has been the worst I recall.  Hopefully it is just an anomaly and we are in for a great snow season.

    Meadows :)

Despite being the worst, last year was my first year here and I still had a lot of fun.

I will join you on that anomaly thought and raise you a powdery January!

  4. I may get up to Meadows tomorrow (Fri) morning. I'll be watching for y'all if I do. I have an orange helmet and black pants and red boots, red oldskool leash, usually black jacket. You will certainly be able to spot me; I will be much slower/less dignified than any of you.

Went up yesterday/Wednesday (sorry didn't post prior, it was a 6:30am decision) and the morning was great; lots of groomed trails and nice wide runs. Had a good time off of Cascade. It was skiied out and choppy a couple hours in and slushy by the afternoon. I got Grant Myrdal'd and that was good feedback; I am way too upright, shoulders/hips not squared to front of board, back hand not in front/squared, back knee not tucked...mostly, not square (This photo and next 2  http://meadowsactionphotos.smugmug.com/Dailygalleries1415/Wed-april-8-cascade-upper/48496556_vz5Sdw#!i=3980579931&k=8tKwhsD&lb=1&s=A

...I shoulda taken a picture of that

Going to Utah Saturday to visit a friend for a week and then looking forward to Timberline when I get back! Because I assume Meadows will be closed.

Even though this is The Worst Season Yet for my first time back I've had a great time this year and am really thankful to be reunited with the snow. Hope to see/meet you soon and that you get some nice turns in in until then.

    Happy trails :)

  5. You guys probably made a good choice :P

Was raining at 8:30 when I got to Meadows this morning, continued to rain. Heavy wet slow powder, some slush, not much groomed. A layer of snow covering all the rocks, trees, dirt I saw on Saturday. Between the overcast and the lack of windshield wipers on my goggles I could hardly see a thing. Called it a day after 3 runs; it rained all the way back to town.

  6. haha yay! I am really happy right now! good to meet all y'all.

I will definitely post here days before when I go up. I might go up Wed if all works out.

In the mean time I'll be lurking around looking for stuff that fits me better (like...size 26.5 boots instead of 28). It feels kind of scary to get boots without trying them on first but I have absolutely no idea where one would try on alpine hardboots around here :) so any advice on that or heads up if anyone is selling some would be most welcome.

Dangerboy, I wonder if it was you I saw from the lift once. It was a hardbooter with a young kid, under Vista, on a Wed morning.

I am curious how it is up on Hood with spring break right now. On Saturday I kept pulling over to let screeching packs of adolescents by.

  7. Hello all,

I am new to this forum so hope that I am posting this in the correct place and with proper ettiquitte.

I wanted to introduce myself, I am new to the Bomber Online forums.

TL;DR: I am in Portland, looking for hardboot friends/carpool on Mt. Hood

    Longer:

I grew up in CO, started snowboarding in the late 80's, and was introduced to hardboot/carving by my snowboard instructor cousins who were all in plate setups up on Aspen Highlands. It was soooo fun. I kept it up through college all over Summit county then moved to the PNW in 2001. Since I moved, until this season, I have not had the opportunity to go snowboarding but this year got a pass to Meadows and have been going up by myself this year after nearly a decade and a half off of the snow.

Coming back into it, I feel pretty novice again. I can once in a while get into the groove but also feel bad technique and habits manifesting themselves. I keep looking for other hardbooters whenever I'm up there and the Meadows lifties tell me there are a few others but I've only once, from the lift, seen another one and then never saw them again.

I really want to find other alpine snowboarders who could even take a run or two with me and give me feedback and constructive critisism...so far I'm DIY learning again but there's nothing like getting feedback from another human being.

I'm also still using my equipment from college which I lugged up on a plane. I'm aware it's over 15 years old...and I also discovered my boots were way too big...and I'm not sure how to dial down stance...

Suffice to say, I feel like a total beginner again and am the living embodiment of a time warp with my old gear and poor technique. I did a fun race on Saturday and yeah it is pretty evident I have a long way to go </loud skidding noises>

However I have still been having a blast. I've been getting made fun of for choosing this year to buy a season pass but honestly I missed the snow so much and just feel lucky to even be up on the mountain.

So, I am looking for any Mt Hood hardboot friends, especially who could advise a rookie such as myself.

I found BOL searching for advice on carving and anyone who was an alpine snowboarder on Mt. Hood. I would love to meet anyone who's out, and trust me, if I see another hardbooter on the mountain, I am chasing them down for a conversation (or rather more likely waiting for them at the bottom of the lift as they lap me)! It would also be fun to geek out on stuff with someone other than my cat.

I also probably stupidly got a spring pass to Timberline. But I think I can get 2 days out of it anyway. I work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays so often go up M, W, or F. I drive from N Portland and am happy to carpool.

Anyway, hello. I am glad to have found Bomber Online. Is this the right place for me to post? Thank you.
