  1. With spring upon us We're running out of days to get out on the boards.

Anyone interested in hitting the hills (Canyons preferably), get in some runs, share some tips (like favorite runs to rip up), check out some gear, etc. The bigger the group the better.

Racers will be heading off to Nationals on April 1st, before that Friday would be great.

I'm heading up next wednesday for 2 days at park city and 1 day at the canyons (not sure which day yet ill let you know later) It would be awesome to ride with some other carvers

  2. The FAST snowboard team is transitioning from the Olympic Park to the Canyons for spring training. Watch for them under the new Orange Bubble chair and stop by to say hello or check out the program.

Sounds awesome. I think I'm planning one day at the canyons right now. Ill definitely have to check that out

  3. Im wondering if anyone is going to be riding park city or around that area during spring break.

I may be riding soft boots and riding the bowls all day depending on the conditions. Are the bowls usually ok to ride around spring break.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. Well a few weeks have passed and I've made a 2 more projects.

They are both personal projects just for fun. The first one (the wood topsheet) isnt very well done, but isnt too bad. My middle name is eastwood if that helps explain the design at all.

The second one is one I made more for a friend who is a fan of the AHL hockey team the Chicago Wolves. It's his name and number (like it would be on the back of a jersey), and was thrown together in about 2 days.

  5. That is a sweet graphic, it's amazing that jack didn't move this to off topic yet.

Yeah I wasn't sure exactly where it should go.

Nice! What about a brighter green though?[/img]

I was thinking that. I just based the green off of the green in the donek logo. But now I have something to do when I'm out of ideas:)

  6. Im in a graphic arts class at my high school, and this year we get to pick out our projects.

I decided to choose to do some Photoshop and Illustrator to make some graphics.

I finished my first project(a donek topsheet) last friday and thought I would share it with you.

There will probably be more to come soon.

  7. Well I got the superglider yesterday and rode it quite a bit. Ive been working on my pumping and haven't made much progress. I know it will take more time but i'm wondering if a new set of bushings would help me out at all because ive read that the stock bushings can be cheap. Ive been looking around and have heard good things about the venom supercarve bushings. I just thought Id see what you guys though first

  8. Im really considering the supercharger. Im just wondering if it will be better for carving or for a smaller rider (im about 5'7 125 lbs.) I dont need an especially stable board at speed because theres no hills to ride on. So the better the board is for pumping the better it is for me.

    Thanks again guys

  9. Ive been park skateboarding for about 3 years now and never really payed attention to longboards. But now that I started hardbooting I now have an interest in longboarding as well.

I'm not really sure if I should buy a new complete or look around for a used board for carving and just riding around, so I thought I'd ask around here first.

I would prefer to spend less than $170 or so for a complete set, new or used.

maybe one of you guys would have a set that you are willing to sell, or at least point me in the right direction.

Ive been looking at thelongboardstore and thought the TLS 35" looked pretty nice. But again I thought I would ask around a little bit first.

    Thanks,

  10. To me, a skateboard is a plank with trucks and wheels. My favorite use for one of these things is to ride skateparks. I am of the "tricks are for kids" persuasion, and what I do mostly there is carve. That is, all four wheels on the concrete, no skidding. You're allowed to have two wheels out if you're grinding on both trucks. Slides are fun, too. The board I ride is fairly long, and people call it a longboard, but it's my shortboard.

I have a longer (skate)board I use for cruising around any slightly sloped, well-paved, traffic-free area. Here again all I'm really out to do is carve and slide. I don't do this in any serious way but that may change as I look for ways to get closer to the feeling of snowboarding.

One thing I have never had an interest in is street skating (rails, flipping board, anything on flat ground). It looks cool when others do it, and I'm slightly interested in some of this on a snowboard, but not on a skateboard.

I stopped carving at my local skatepark bowl once a pebble caused a fractured skull and a concussion:(
