  1. I usually ride at Stuhleck, at the slope called Schieferwiese. Usually you can meet a whole bunch of alpine riders. It´s rather smaller resort, close to the Vienna, so it may get crowded, but it doesn´t get much better within reasonable driving distance. We could possibly get some riding done together ;)

  2. Hi there, which time of year are you going there? Jasna is pretty good for carving, I would recommend the Southern part called Kosodrevina. There are some nice red slopes which are pretty wide, with different steepness and good grooming. It is also less crowded than the Northern part, where you can also find nice riding. Jasna also has some great freeride terrains, both bowls and trees.

  3. Beckmann,

I realised I have a simmilar problem, I just didn't think it's an issue, since the pain was very minor and always faded away after riding.

I ride Ibex binding with rear inward cant and flat front. Do you think riding both feet flat would change anything? I don't really want to put a inward canting disc in front of my front leg, tried it once and it didn' t feel comfortable at all.

    Thanks!

  4. In chronological order:

    1. Reading BOL discussions, tech articles and everything - here I found out what it is all about for the first time. Since I was beggining on my own, this website worked as my instructor

    2. getting a SG deck - head to head comparison with my renntiger made me realise how much difference can a board make

    3. Meeting Wintergold and following his advice - the biggest step forward I made so far

    4. Buying UPZ boots instead of noodle like Deeluxe track 225 - I discovered a whole new world of stability, which resulted in increased power in my riding and higher speeds

    5. Another season on slopes chasing Wintergold and working on his hints - priceless

  5. I´m selling a pair of Deeluxe Track 225T 29.0 with intec heels, liner moulded only once. Besides usaul scratches and some colour peeled off the buckes, boots are in a good condition. Had some 50 days on them over past three season. Mainly interested in European buyers, but if anyone else wants them and is willing to pay for shipment, he will get them! Prize $225/170eur

    PM for a picture!

  6. Hi,

I am from Slovakia, but I didn´t really have a chance to ride at the Strbske pleso, yet. It´s pretty small resort, with some not quite steep runs. I think it would be pretty carving friendly, but there is this weird tendency, that the ski and snowboard begginers are looking for chaep resorts so this resort and the other resorts in High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry) are often overcrowded by straightliners plowing their way down the hill. But this probably won´t be an issue during the races :)

Unfortunately, there aren´t any really good ski resorts in High Tatras, since it is the national park, and it has the first degree of nature conservation. That´s the reason why there are only a few new slopes being built. However, there is a hope, a big project is now waiting to proceed through the bureaucracy and hopefully they´ll build some great winter resort in there soon.

The Jasná, in Nízke Tatry is much better, than the Štrbské pleso. Alpine skiing events are being held there.

I´m thinking of comming to the deaflympics and watch the PGS races, if i have enough time. Good luck at the races!

  7. Great video Gery! lookes even better LIVE

    Alpine is almost dead...

Would be great if each of us can "convert" at least one person per season....

    BTW, nice video, wintergold!

I´m pretty succesful in this, and this is only my third season in hardboots:cool:Last season I convinced a friend of mine to swicht to alpine gear from softboots, now he says he´d never get back to the softboots. This season I started to teach another friend on alpine board, it is only his second year on snowboard at all. He already did couple carved turns on his first day on hardboots and he got really enthusiastic and he is already "hooked"! The next on my list was my girlfriend, she´s at least carving in her softboot setup, for now:biggthump

Hopefully, I´ll make to try hardboots somebody else next year

  8. This happes to me pretty much every time I get to the slopes at the begining of the day. I have to open my lower buckles after each run. It fades away after few runs, i think because i stretch a boot a little bit, but it just comes back on the next time at the slopes.

The other case this happens to me is when the conditions aren´t really good I´m forced to skid.

  9. For Sale!

Volkl Renntiger 178GS, bought last season and had only about 15 days on it. Little cosmetic damage on the topsheet, doesn´t influence riding performance. Great board, hate to sell it, but fell in love with NSR!:ices_ange

    New - 530euro, now 350euro + shipping.

PS:looking mainly for buyers from Europe, but if someone is willing to pay shiiping, I will sihip it to the US/Canada too.

  10. It was the first carving event I ve ever attended, but it was absolutely worth of it! Lots of great people with very useful advices and all the demo boards. All the new school stuff was great, however, I´m not experienced enough to make liable a review of a board, but I can tell I fell in love with Oxess hardcarve 185, 15,5cm waist, 13m sidecut and titanal in it:1luvu: I ve never tried such a narrow board, but it was amazing

the only one wich beat it was Oxess worldcup 178. Definately the most versatile board i ve tried at the carving masters.
