  1. Lonbordin- there are a few of us out here in the Indiana/ Ohio area, but as I stated, few as in I think 3 total. But I have some time off in the next couple weeks and could come up to Paoli for a day or you could come down to Perfect North - whatever works best- Good luck on the board search. I think I've bought all my last few boards from right here in the Bomber classifieds. Everyone has been great. Big shout out to the general Hardbooter public for making this such a great forum and group to be a part of-

  2. Thanks all for the help. Sounds like my Cateks will bolt up and hopefully I won't pull out any inserts. Just as an FYI- I also have an Oxygen Proton 172 that I ride on occasion. Is the FP 171 a little more forgiving than the Proton or the other way around?

Powdah- hit me up at jmagee@upmet.com and we'll work it out. I'm definitely interested. And thanks for the response-

  3. Ok- the economy hit me hard this past year and I had to sell my Donek FC 171 - So now I'm broke with a board issue this year. Curious about the Burton FP 167- never ridden one, but I weigh 195 lbs. - would I be too much for this board? Some help please? Also, I have Cateks to go on it, they would bolt up correct?

    Thanks all-

  4. Yeah- I wear knee braces. Once in awhile on my front, all the time on my rear. I had ACL replacement on my front 18 yrs ago. Also ACL replacement on my rear knee last spring. It is a big bulky Donjoy brace, but I don't feel comfortable or confident without it on. BTW- in my family we have 7 (I think) knee surguries and all were from skiing. We grew up ski racing USSA so it was a nice switch for me to go to carving boards. So honestly, I think its choice. Mine doesn't hurt at this point but I think its more of a mental confidence thing. Good luck to you- hope you find a solution.

  5. I highly recommend checking your binding setup. Read the tech tips on binding setup right here on Bomber. They're wonderful. I personally feel like I live in a "hole" here in Ohio and with no one but myself to ask for help and the internet, I found that for the first entire season I wasn't even close on my binding setup which made me ride horribly and not know why. I ended up going out to Park City and riding with Dave Tille from Hardbooter.com for a day. Amazing what someone whose familiar with the proper setup can do for you. By the way- Thank you Dave! Without the tech tips from Bomber and some help from Dave, I definitely would have not been able to progress as fast as I have. Good luck!

  6. Ok, I did this last year with my sons board. Jeff at hyghoctane.com designed and made me a topsheet for my son's board. At Christmas last year I found a girl's board at the right price, and since I have a daughter that can use it when he grows out of it - it just made sense. Hopefully these pics show what was done. After a year of hard riding there are some spots on the tip and tail that have come off, but only small spots. I recommend it and my boy loves it. He even put Kyle's football number on it. These were taken with my cel so they aren't great, but there's been almost no color fading.

  7. I'm usually at Perfect North near Cincy. I'll come up one of these days to ride- let me know when you're going. Come on down to Perfect one day also if you get a chance. I think its a couple hour drive for me.

  8. Went to Perfect North Slopes last night- I was the lone trencher. They groomed all the main runs, no lift line whatsoever, no wait except for the chairlift. 100% of runs open, great conditions. I think I'll keep it to myself... :D

Here's to a great weekenight! I know once Christmas comes my "uncrowded" days will be gone!
