  1. I have no idea what they're going for, specially in this condition. I did a Google search and it brought me back to the original post of when I bought it back in 2010, so there's not much info on this board. Not sure if that makes it a rare expensive find, or junk. But so long as it goes to someone who can fix it and enjoy it, I'm open to any offers.

  2. Hey y'all. So I ended up buying this board here back in 2010. Rode it like a bullet! But out of ignorance I kept sticking it in the snow outside the lodge, tail first. Eventually the snow got between the glass and Zylon top sheet and it delaminated on one corner. Otherwise the board is in great shape. It's FOR SALE again! Any interest?

  3. Hey y'all. So I ended up buying this board from Thor back in 2010. I'll try putting it in the classifieds, but out of nostalgia I wanted to put it here in this thread first.

  4. What is the flex on this bad boy? I am 160lbs and prefer a softer flex.

I've only had two carving boards, this one and a virus gladiator, and this one feels stiffer. From research I've done I'd say this is a medium to stiff flex board, however I weigh about 170lbs and this board worked well for me.

  5. I'm interested but curious how the screw broke. Did the head snap off because a binding was lifted or because it galled/froze in the hole? What is the olympic construction?

Being the skidder that I was when I bought this board I forgot to add anti-seize to the screws. This screw broke as I was trying to unscrew it.

The following is an excerpt from Doneks Olympic Construction description from 2007: "The completely new Olympic vertically laminated wood core is engineered specifically to absorb high frequency chatter. With the inclusion of additional polyurethane layers to dampen unwanted vibrations, our Olympic construction dramatically increases dampness and control, without sacrificing the snappy responsiveness that is a Donek hallmark."

Nick is right, this is a super fun board and it still has a lot of life left. The base or edges have never been ground.

  6. **SOLD** **SOLD** **SOLD**

Donek FC-II Olympic Contruction 171cm. The board was only used for 3 seasons and is in great shape with only a few minor scratches on the topsheet and two small scratches on the base and the edges are clean. There is a screw that broke off in one of the mounting holes which can easily be repaired (see photo). This board has Donek's Olympic Construction option and handles incredibly. I paid over $800 for this board but I'm willing to let it go for $400.

  7. I was having this exact same issue last time I went out. Im a second season hardbooter and am still tweaking my setup. I tried adjusting my front boot and binding and next thing I knew I was doing heelside with a straight back! My adjustments were made so that my front boot was lifted at the toe instead of at the heel. I have Deeluxe boots that allow you to adjust the angle between your foot and leg. I adjusted this also and it worked great! This allowed me to make turns keeping my legs and back straight and I noticed it took alot less effort to make clean turns. My legs were hardly tired by the end of the run. Im wish I could explain this adjustment with the correct terminology but Im still learning, basically just adjust your binding so your toe is farther off the board than your heel. I hope this helps.

  8. Hello hardbooters. I'll be in Steamboat Springs for a week from Feb 1 - Feb 8 and was wondering if anyone had any advice on which runs, restaurants, or bars to visit during my stay. I was also thinking of renting a car and driving to a few other resorts in the area within a few hours drive from Steamboat. I was considering Vail, Aspen, Copper Mt, Beaver Creek. Any feedback would be much appreciated thanks!

  9. Thanks for the compliment. I rode a Morrow slickftyone for like 10 years till the bottom fell off then I got an '05 Burton T6. It was a great carver but I needed more. I finally took a leap of faith and got a Donek and some gear and became addicted after a few turns. Props to you guys and the rest of the people that post on this and other forums, as this was the only source of info I had to go on. Not to mention the Carvers Almanac (which by the way never got updated this season... whats up with that?), and all the great videos on youtube. I gotta hand it to the swiss guys riding the swoards high on edge.... it may not be for everyone but it sure looks cool. So have a great summer riding the Waves and Wakes, and hopefully we can take some runs next season.

  10. Hello fellow hardbooters. I was one of the unidentified hardbooters at Mammoth on Sunday 4/20. I saw a few other hardbooters (Probably u guys) out under chair 2 during the first part of the morning, but I kept missing you guys. I would see you on the chair on my way down or on the slope on my way up. That was likely my last trip of the season. I was new to hardbooting this year and was looking forward to meetins some fellow hardbooters. Perhaps next season we can coordinate some trips. BTW I was the guy in beige/brown riding a silver Donek FC II 171 with Deeluxe Track 325's.
