Hey LCI....
I had to stop reading the boards a while ago since reading about all the fun I was missing was getting depressing. The arm finally got to the point where I could almost completely ignore it a few weeks ago, and finals ended a week ago, so I finally got out on the road bike again. It was sort of unplanned, but I knocked out 40 miles on my first ride of the season, in a pretty pathetic (compared to the end of last year) 2:30. Hopefully I can get a few more rides in this week, if the weather cooperates, and get my legs back. Wouldn't mind another shot at 3 sisters, or even Apex, sometime this summer.

Next year, can someone please remind me not to get taken out by any skiers a week before a huge storm?

Pain is starting to decrease for the first time since the wreck... not sure if it's healing yet or if it's just the doc's advice to take advil consistently so there's always enough in my system to reduce the swelling. I'm hopeful for riding next weekend, but I'm still playing it by ear.
Oh yeah, when anything says "alcohol may intensify these effects", that's a recommendation, right?

I think it should be fine... doesn't seem to be any serious damage, just painful stuff, so I think if I take it easy I should be ok. I am quite bored though... it's unfortunate how many of my hobbies require 2 hands.
Ink, I should be able to get you the ticket tomorrow. You're still working near the bike shop, right?

well, good news... my arm isn't broken. The doc said he couldn't believe it when he saw the x rays, he was ready to talk to me about orthopedics and stuff. As it is, I'm supposed to keep it immobilized for ~3 weeks, so I'll see you guys in april. I hope there's still snow by then.

Awwww, RIP BDFCII. Save a spot next to it for my arm... still hurts like hell. I'm going to have to give in and go get it x-rayed in a day or two. I generally avoid the doc, since they're just going to tell me to stop doing fun things, but it hasn't improved in the last week, so maybe I should get it checked out...

I'll be up on the hill as soon as I'm not quite so beat up. Hopefully tomorrow, but I'm going to have to see how fast these bruises and sore joints start feeling better. My right leg must have gotten tweaked pretty badly somehow, since I've got some pain in my hip and a bit in my knee. Luckily, my pain free range of motion is enough to ride, based on some carpet surfing, but I don't want to aggravate anything at this point.

I'm going to try to make it to the Basin tomorrow, but I'm going to have to see how I feel in the morning. I took a pretty nasty hit from a skier at lovey today, so I'm not sure how I'll feel in the morning. My arm and shoulder feel rather unpleasant right now, but anything can happen by tomorrow.

Yeah, I've seen better snow, but I don't have any serious complaints aside from hitting a couple of nasty grooming ridges. I'm starting to get a better feel for angulating in the turns, and I think once I can get in the habit of that, I'll start to feel better on the steeps and narrows. The board turns so much tighter when I do the pencil pinch thing, which gives me much more speed control. You guys already know this, I'm sure. Once I'm carving comfortably with angulation, I think I'll be able to work up to higher speeds.
To end the day, I had my best run yet down Home Run, then ate it at the base. Note to self... come to a complete stop before unclipping both bindings.

Today just didn't work out for me... I woke up at 5:30 and just didn't feel well at all. I think I just needed a bit of extra rest to get over stress from finals. Right now, I'm going to try to get up there Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week, though I'm pretty flexible about that.

Yo LCI!!
Glad to see you guys up there killin it in the videos. I've had some health issues in the last few months, but it appears that I've survived. I managed to buy my season pass online the other day, so hopefully I'll be up on the hill for another season of tormentoring soon.
