  1. Hi everyone, I was out of town last season. Now I'm back.

Today, I went up to Whistler and did some training up there. One of my friends, AP, is a hard-core carving. He can almost carve everywhere with hard/soft boots. I told him about the Vancouver gang. He would love to meet anyone of you. And I chat with Bruce last month, he would like to come out on plate too.

Anyone interested to carving up a day at Whistler once a month?

If yes, please post your availability below:

    Me: Mostly Tuesday or Wednesday

    AP: Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday

    Bruce: ???

  2. I may go up Cypress tomorrow, but not for riding. If anyone is interested in raceboard and boots, I can bring them up to Cypress. I'm willing to sell them at low price as I will be away this season for work. These boards has been sitting in my storage room for several seasons. It will be nice if someone can take them and give better care and love.

  3. Hey Guys,

I have to sell most of the gears due to limited space and will be away for 4 months this season. These gears has been sitting in my garage over 5 years, some over 10 years. As long as someone can give a reasonable offer, I'm willing to sell all my old gears.

Again, I'm selling because I don't have space for all my gears and need to save some money for my Japan trip.

When I'm back, you will still see me riding on hard boots( if there's enough coverage).

I attached a picture of some of the boards I got. I also have some old hard boot for sell.

  4. Very sunny, warm day. Medium crowd, crappy snow...

Luka with the ski club, Pan with some freestyle students...

Toys: Coiler Chubby and F2 ElDiablo. Hardly could hold the edge in the morning, switched to the F2 pretty soon... In the afternoon I mostly chased the moguls and did a lot of jumping, including the big one at the bottom of Jja...

Went up the Sky chair for the first time this year, pretty bad up there. Run out via lower Horizon is absolute disaster. However, Eagle side is pretty much ok.

Next snow on forecast for Friday. Cross you fingers and do your snow dance, brothers.

    Hey Boris,

I will be up again tomorrow Sunday for training. I will be free from 9-10. Let me know if you wanna ride hardboot.

    cheers

  5. Whistler will only open Creekside and Whistler Gondola, and also Emerald and Red chair. With the weekend crowd, I think it will be crazy long line-up and super-tight human slalom on the runs.

Currently, the last minute deal from Whistler web site is pretty good. You may find a studio hotel room for $90/night.

Recommend bringing a rock board, unless you are planning to download from mid station.

  6. Hi Johnny,

Sorry for late reply. Just saw this thread, and I didn't receive any private message. I was at Whistler & Blackcomb running training sessions and courses on March 19-21th. I saw 2-3 hardbooters during that week. I recognize one of them is Doug.

If you are looking for a hard plate lesson at Whistler in the future, you can request me through snow school. If I'm not available, you can ask for John Shelly. Shelly is an ex-alpine racer and is currently a SBX coach working on his way to CASI 4.

If you come visit at lower mainland, you are welcome to join my training sessions. I run training sessions for Grouse, Cypress and Seymour snow schools and also give entry level race training at Grouse and Cypress.

I'll be up at Blackcomb from April 12th and will be with CASI super course. If you are up that week, feel free to pass by and say hi.

    A+

  7. Pan, the race is not on Midway, but on the Coyotee7 by Raven chair. The best is to check with Cypress Mountain management and Cypress Ski Club, if thay had any problems with it.

I've discussed with Lili already. The ski club have their own event on lower Bowen, so there're not enough space to setup another course. I can only do it some other days.

Sorry Gord. Will try other date this month or April

    :)

  8. I was at Smithers last weekend giving a course and saw two hard booters. Then, I met one of them, Harm, who is a great guy and looking forward to meet other hardcore carvers. I've told him to check this forum. Anyone looking for dry powder or nice open run should consider Hudson Bay Mountain. No line-up and barely anyone on the hill. The only problem is they have only 1 triple chair (17-20min to the top) and the rest are T-bar.
