  1. Thanks Karl, and no disrespect to the other 30-39 men. I just think with training and a more zen philosophy of riding it will be fun to compete again. It will be more fun to take home gold.

Please keep me up to date on training opportunities. I really appreciate it!

  2. Just booked my flight to the Nationals. $205 round trip to denver and two of my old Montana roomies reside in summit county so I got lodging covered.

I wanna know if anyone can provide some challenging training opportunities. Slalom on Chicken at Welch, or the run next to chair 9(?) at afton and maybe some high speed GS at Spirit or Giants Ridge or anywhere with some Length and speed.

Its been 13 years since I competed and it woke up a sleeping demon. I dont want the open class (yet), but I wanna destroy the 30-39 & a little training could really boost my confidence out west.

God Im looking forward to this~:D

  3. Rode the $12 ticket this morning. Really flat light but great snow! I skied for the first time in probably 8+ years while I let a friend ride my race board in the afternoon. I think my friend is hooked, and I got a nice compliment from an attractive skier lady that noticed that Im not bad on one or two planks :p

  4. Who won this last year? How does the scoring work?

I think my racing days are over but this looks like fun. I might have to give it a shot on two planks as well...I looked at my skis and they screamed, "We are champions and we deserve some use!!"

  5. The tapes say High grade 8. They are sony tapes. I may just have it done professionally and then put anything good onto youtube. I know theres at least a little great stuff.

The Garrett stuff should be good too cause he'd be about the last person I would have expected to make it to the world cup, maybe I just wasn't a very good coach. There was a good training crash of his that we all watched over and over as a what not to do.

Honestly I'd be afraid to hear my commentary during the taping?!?!

I know that one whole tape is probably a slopestyle comp at Hyland. I shot the whole thing begining to end without coming in off the hill and it was dangerously could out. Im pretty sure that I got hypothermia 'cause I got tunnel vision and I couldn't turn my key in my car lock and had to go defrost myself in the chalet.

I slept really well alot of winter nights because of coaching...Im quite tired just thinking of it!

  6. Hi-8 video camera still. I just found all the video I shot while coaching for 3 seasons.

I have been looking for these tapes for along time and had begun to think they did not exist.

I know there's some video of Garrett crashing really hard while learning and theres probably some video of Troy that he would hope no one would ever see. I remember shooting Mark Fawcett riding in the lane next to ours at Hood. I remember watching it over and over and saying "how the hell does he do that!"

Does anyone have the ability to convert it to DVD or recommend somewhere that can???

  7. If that were the case?? We have to start promoting this thing we do!!! I went waterskiing with a snowboarder and he had never thought of riding hard boots...

Just tell em, like the old cig adds; "Its Better Here!"

  8. I felt like carving was made for me because I grew up Slalom Waterskiing, Skateboarding, Rollerblading, Ice Skating (playing hockey everyday before ski racing practice with Team Gilboa).

Nowadays I never get a chance to break out my old Kidder waterski. If you have a ski boat I will pay for the gas for a chance at the glass.

    Let me know

    Nate---:D

  9. I have a Generics 175 that is baby blue with two little yellow symbols on it. It is my favorite board and I would like to find another.

The 175 was a special that was made for the companys racers and were not available for sale. It is quite soft for a GS board and I am hoping maybe someone got one and never/barely used it.

Please let me know if you have one or know of one

    Peace

    The Cord Artisan

  10. Thanks Mike and Trent for the obvious reasons---

Trent send me your address and 'The check is in the mail' I really appreciate it!

Kick-Ass meeting all you other Skiboarders and riding with some old friends:D

  11. Three things

    1. Riding tomorrow AM at Buck

    2. Really hoping I can talk Tom L (aka mr t) to give me a ride to MES

    3. Per tuning: as far as I know REI is the only one with a Montana Stone that can accomodate a snowboard. It is $45 if your bindings are off and your a REI member.

Otherwise your looking at a belt grind : (

maybe things have changed but I wish you could see what my board looks like. Ity includes a hand wax. It is amazing
