Boot Rivet repair

I've figured out how to repair my loosening buckle rivets on my Raichle boots, (specifically the lower two buckles) with a "weld nut" and a button head cap screw.

I used a #10-24 x 1/4" Stainless Steel Button head cap screw (allen wrench head), a #10 stainless Steel flat washer, and a #10-24 weld nut. A weld nut is round, looks like a T-nut, but is flat, and has no prongs to dig into your boot. http://www.on-b.com/nuts/wfz.htm

The button head cap screw sticks up only slightly higher than the original rivet (about 0.1").

The hard part was getting the very loose rivets out of the boot.
