Some top coat finishes will be marred by the acetone, Alway's use a citrus based cleaner, warm board top with hair dryer, not hot, just warm it up. Use 3m super adhesive spray. Get the one that say's for cardboard , fabric, leather-semi perm. I have used this with great results. Don't breath the stuff, it'll you twitch. Spray the pad on some newspaper and smack it on a piece of smooth cardboard, like the printed side of a beer box. Get it to a tacky state and put it on your board. If corners pop up you can add more. I've done this with several boards and surfboards and never had any problems with it messing up the finish, BUT you might want to try a sample piece first.
