Guest astan100
Hey guys, I think I'm going to hit the slopes for the first time the week after thanksgiving and want to book a package deal now. Any thoughts between Okemo and Killington? The prices are pretty close...possibly slightly cheaper at Okemo with a closer hotel to the lift. -Allen
Ginsu
Personally I always liked Okemo better. But that said I would choose someplace like Bolton Valley, or Sugarloaf instead as they'd both be cheaper and not as crowded. Okemo crowds can usually be ovoided by staying away from the main lodge lifts though.
patmoore
Killington tends to get too bumped up. Okemo is renowned for its grooming. I'll likely be there one of those days that weekend.

Nice 45 minute wait for the gondi, K Mart is a blast on the weekends !
Guest astan100
wow, that is atrocious. You totally convinced me. That's what happens when you market like there's no tomorrow I guess. I'll be at Okemo on the 3rd and 4th it looks like...anyone who wants to mentor a n00b? :) Being my first day on the snow though..this WON'T be pretty. patmoore
2 days ago. Nice 45 minute wait for the gondi, K Mart is a blast on the weekends ! There was zero wait at Okemo on Saturday. That may have had something to do with the paucity of available trails but at least the crowds were light and I got plenty of riding in. Astan100 - If I'm there I'll be happy to ride with you but you want someone else to mentor you. I'm always on the lookout for coaching myself. Guest astan100
I'm pretty new to all of this, so any tips would be appreciated. It's going to take me most of the first day just to get comfortable again I bet...I only started on the board last season.
sickmove
Killington was a nightmare on Saturday, fer sure. But as new terrain opens, that will change. A little. By the time you come up, everything will be different though. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow and again thursday! Another thing to think about. If you're into the party scene, Killington is a better option.
