nekdut
So now that its the early season, what are you guys using as your rock board? Mammoth has fairly thin coverage from what I've read, so I'm using my Burton Coil 162 this weekend. Its a little soft and short for me, but I'm not risking a Madd or a Coiler this early. :)
Mike T
My Axis 172, which has over 100 days on it, and an old Incline 168 that has no camber left for "powder over rocks". I really didn't want my Axis to become a rock board, but it racked up the dings with the crappy PNW season last year. My Coilers and soon-to-be Donek FC 175 will not see snow until coverage is such that I don't have to worry. Pretty much after I get through a day on my Axis without hitting anything and not trying to hard to avoid stuff.
BlueB
Sooner you destroy the old board, sooner you can justify the purchase of another one :D
NMU Alpine Boarder
I'm on an OLD (95-96) 159cm Factory Prime that has definately seen better days... I'm thinking this will be it's last few outings... It took a few core shots last season when I had it out in the trees @ Mt. Bohemia.... mirror70
I use my Madd 158 for rocks. If you think it carves well on ice, wait until you try it on granite!
jdgang
Just waiting for speed 160 to take a core shot to turn it into my rock board. I can then get my new one!!!!!
RobRidesSquaw
be careful at mammoth, i was just there this past weekend, and there are a lot of chocolate chips waiting to snag an edge or rip your base. For rock boards i use my Rossi Myth for soft boots, and will use my old gs board for hardboots, its an old Renn Tiger.

Dave*
Previous few days a 166 sims daytona. Today the 185 factory Prime came out, no dingers obtained. Dave*
Guest
I'll be using my 4807 up on ajax today. Hopefully I wont blow an edge.
Guest
Wow, what an insane run. Ajax has 12 inches at least up top, and I only hit a few rocks at the bottom. Wow.
big mario
but there are a few of us fortunate souls who don't need one right now mario
Jon Dahl
Went opening day at Stevens pass on Wed. 9th. and rode the RT173 for an hour and a half. Broke out the 178 Oxygen and found some rocks outa bounds and in the chair line (trees). Took out the 158 F2 Breezer for the next 2 hours after that, no rocks to be found anywhere the snow was decent. Left at 2 pm to beat traffic. Epic opening day for me! Dan
My O-Sin Sinner is my rock alpine board. $75 off eBay 4 years ago; I'd say I got (and am getting) my money's worth. I don't have a beater board for powder though, so I rode my Arbor Munoz 162 on Saturday at Meadows. Found a few roots (sorry PTC!), but nothing too bad. dantheman0177
So I'm using my Burton Coil 162 this weekend. I WAS using my Burton Coil 173 as my rock board until I went over a rock, went over the handle bars and came up with a very floppy board . So now it is just a nice looking display in my hall...
