BlueB Posted November 5 Report Posted November 5 Welcome Felix! Ha, Cocoon Lotus, I had 159 and 164 about 20 years ago. They had carbon fibre in the composite and 164 was quite stiff, at least for my level back then. You are probably better of learning on that F2 (assuming the 152 is too small/soft for you). Good bindings and boots - I think Proflex boots are the same as Head. Make sure the boots fit you properly (tight). Have fun. Quote
Felixmtb Posted November 6 Author Report Posted November 6 Thanks for the tips feedback but I have a question the f2 (22m curf Radius) is stiffer then my cocoon (15 m curf Radius) is it really better to start on the f2 also it ave a plate from vist on it Quote
BlueB Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 I'd start on softer board without plate. You can also remove the Vist in the beginning. Nose geometry of the F2 would handle snow imperfections better. It would initiate the turn better, but Cocoon would finish the turn more locked-in. Quote
Neil Gendzwill Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 The Proto is a 22m radius, really? Are you sure it’s not more like 12? Quote
BlueB Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 I was wondering the same. 22m is more the spec of a 185 than 170. Quote
BlueB Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Just looked at F2 site, they list the 175 at 15m. 170 is not listed. Quote
Felixmtb Posted November 6 Author Report Posted November 6 It is not a normal proto it's a Spezial with a titanal plate and it's not a new one I think itˋs from 2005. that's the old board from my dad he as a lot of other interesting boards like a 185 nobile proto also with 22m curf radius or a 170 black Pearl that was driven in worldcup finals. But for me I first must learn to drive right with an hardboot board and that fast because I have some races (snowboard germany) to drive. Quote
BlueB Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 I think all the Protos are built with titanal. Since racing is the idea, definitely learn on F2 with Vist on. The Cocoon will be inferior in the race course. I'm not sure how big are you, but you'll probably need a bigger board for GS and smaller for SL. Quote

Felixmtb Posted November 7 Author Report Posted November 7 Yes I think also that the all protos built with titanal but this is different to the other protos. Pherhaps I think that I get a nobile modern race board properly also as a prototype many in 165 or 175 Quote
