Eboot
150 cm ish She’s not too serious but I would rather look for a board that will allow her to grow into her carving.
west carven
howdy eboot this would be a good choice ... Jones Women's Flagship 149 ... click the size chart ... really good edge hold when on edge ... fun board ...
Neil Gendzwill
I think in Jones the women's Hovercraft would be an even better choice, it's supposedly a better carver than the Flagship.
Eboot
Thank you both! I have been looking at a Jones Mountain Twin at a good price. More free ride.
west carven
howdy eboot just saw the new 22/23 flagship in person and there is a big magnatraction in the middle of the sidecut ... i have an older womens 152 and you can barely see what he called "mellow magnatraction" ... the mountain twin should be fun ...
dhrracer
You mention a length but do you have an idea of width, sidecut radius, effective edge etc? All will have a significant impact on how a board will ride. What size of boot and stance angles? Is something with a 215mm waist to narrow? Do you have a brand and or binding bolt pattern preference? Would an older Burton 3 hole pattern work? Jack M
The spoon bevel on the Hovercraft looks like a dealbreaker for carving, no? I haven't tried one though. I see the Flagship has this too.
dhrracer
What is carving? Some boards are just better at it than others.
Deuxdiesel
I still have a K2 Recon Riser in 154 if you are interested. They were great AM soft boot carving boards. My wife is around #125 and it's what she used. Cheap.
Neil Gendzwill
Spoon is just on the nose on my ‘20 Flagship.
Eboot
Thank you all for your responses, somehow I missed the notifications. I have in the meanwhile acquired the Jones. With regards set up, she is still playing with angles but was last set up about 15 front, -5 back. I had her set up with an alpine stance but her instructors insisted she ride duck. with woman size 8 shoe and flow bindings. Min width is about 24.5. She was just starting to explore riding on the edge last year but will not easily take instruction from me.
