kamran
looks good, but i want a true mountain board. http://www.mbs.com/ Just visited the site. How good (practical) are those hand held brakes?
Guest Hopscotch
they work just like normal bike breaks. They are high quality, and very easy to opperate.

It's too turny to really lean, in my opinion. If you tip the board over 45 degrees it tries to carve a turn with maybe a 2 foot radius. According to NateW's sidecut calculator that would be like riding a snowboard with a 1.25 or 1.5 meter sidecut. Hah! Yeah, the deck does not flex at all. jkallinen
Originally posted by Hopscotch looks good, but i want a true mountain board. http://www.mbs.com/ Cool, I just found the perfect new board.I have been a skateboarder since 1975 and learned on steel wheels and moved on up to the clay and then urethane wheels. Having been through 3 generations of skateboard evolution since I first learned this is going to be great. I had a halfpipe in my backyard in the early eighties and learned many of the early air tricks. But then a vandal came by one night and burnt it to the ground along with my dads shed. Talk about having problems. My old man who died of Lou gherigs disease in 93 told me that no more ramps in his yard. This was back in 1981. Now I am 43 and still an avid boarder, I have my antique boards yets along with a set of original Kryptonic 70mm 78a wheels that are still going strong after 26 years of use. They have miles of power slides on them and have been reduced down to about 60mm wheels. Now I see that Board Sports USA up in Brainard, MN where I am going on vacation in June has the perfect board for me. I have already placed my order and told them I`ll be up there to pick it up while on vacation nearby. Check it out MBS Traditional Longboard Thanks for pointing the way;)
ar(angel
and if they need someone out West in the greater Redding/Mt. Shasta area to test one out let me know! That looked like exactly what I need for the summer :) Have fun, Paul

Jack M
I think a good streetcarver shootout would include the Flowlab Nuclear Pickle http://www.flowlab.com/pickle.html and the MBS Atom http://www.mbs.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idProduct=8 as well as the Flexboard. Well it's been about 5 years -- I'm sure there are a lot of us who would appreciate a new comparison done by you, Jack. :-) Also, you might want to throw in a long longboard with nice trucks and big, soft wheels. Something 55 inches or longer. You may be surprised how much you can simulate the push/pull on a regular board if the board is long enough and the wheels/trucks are decent.
