andygere
The heel bail on my Bomber TD1s broke while riding yesterday. I see that Bomber carries a replacement bail, however I can’t determine how the bail is held into the lug. Can anyone shed some light on this? I am assuming this is repairable, but would love to hear from the experts.
David Kirk
If I'm not mistaken the heel bail failed. The ends of the bail are threaded and they screw into the lugs. it looks like your bail failed leaving the threaded piece in the lug. I imagine you'll need a bail and a lug. dave
andygere
Thanks Dave. I may be able to extract the broken part from the lug with an easy out, not sure if lugs from TD 3s are the same. Does anybody know this?

The bail material is very hard and would be tricky to drill without a hardened bit. dave
andygere
Thanks, good point. I’ll call Bomber on Monday and see what they can do for parts. Biggest bummer was this was the first time in a long time I traveled without a second board or spares, trying to travel light for a family trip with 5 of us packed in. Won’t make that mistake again, rental board (Burton Custom) was fine, but rental boot and bindings were worthless!

Contact Walker at Bomber by Gumbo https://bomberonline.3dcartstores.com/Binding-Parts_c_42.html The lugs look to be the same as TD3's, but I'd ask Walker to be safe. Looks like heel bails are available. Replace both lugs and use anti-seize grease on the threads. Lug is aluminum and bail is SS.
