I still disagree with asym placement.  I think it introduces a twist into the board under load.

depends on binding angles and of course personal preference. i will agree to disagree. center binding over center of plates correlated to binding angle, with the front binding heel edge bumped up one hole slot due to higher load pressure on heel edge. in my mind, this evenly distributes pressures to the edge. for me. potato potatoe

I like asym placement in my geckos at 60/55 angles. But I also like avacado on toast and banana in my yogurt

U.S. Patent No. 9,364,738.

Fascinating. Wondering what Henry Kim does now with Apex out of business. Someone is still paying the hosting fees for website and domains (unless it was prepaid for a while). I guess he could/should cash in on patents?

Does anyone know of a lead on spare gecko mounting bolts? The taller 10mm ones for a cross or free. One snapped on me last night. Nothing in the McMaster catalog. I sent a message to Henry Kim to see if he can connect me with the supplier, or has any extras kicking around.

Any leads are appreciated.

I got some from Frank at Virus when I was making my own modified version of Geckos last year. Please post here if you find out the original supplier from Kim.

Did the virus fasteners fit property on geckos? I emailed virus and the said they would not fit.

I was able to get ahold of Henry Kim. Super nice guy. He’s gonna send me a few from the stock he has left. He confirmed these were custom made in Europe. So I’d say given he only has so many left, and they aren’t stocked by a fastener company; these will become extremely rare as the years go on.

If the supply is ever totally exhausted, I’m sure a machine shop could make some. But I imagine that wouldn’t be cheap.
