davekempmeister Posted September 14, 2018 Report Share Posted September 14, 2018 I listened to BBC radio last night and heard the bit about the kidney stones and roller coasters. Made me think about the first time I drove a car; I was 14 and heard my Dad making some horrendous sick animal type noises in the middle of the night due to suffering related to kidney stones (at that moment we did not know it was kidney stone related). My Mom was away at a retreat and I took the decision to wrap him up in the blankets he was laying in get him to the car rather than call an ambulance. He was incoherent and it was all so scary. I drove him the few miles to hospital very carefully and the radio report about the roller coasters made me think maybe I should have whipped the car about and sought out every speed bump and pothole.
