I rode my 174 NFCB last weekend - Saturday on bulletproof, then Sunday with 9" powder chasing my daughter down the steeps and bumps. It works exceptionally in both conditions. What are they? I purchased a set of Cateks from here and the guy(can't remember who it was) set me up with a few extra heel receivers-I asked him where they came from and he was not sure where he got them. They are 316 stainless I believe as they are not magnetic. Edited January 14, 2018 by jl1

kawiboy
Got lucky with one of Bruce's last boards of the year. My first new carving board in 22 years which some may have read in my posts on what to get. So I went from a 96 Burton asym FP to a Coiler ECVC. Story has it I'll be blown away and I'll find out on this up coming Monday at Lutsen Mtns in MN. So I wanna say thanks to Bruce for killing himself to get it done before my big trip. He was doing double time due to a shoulder injury and dealing with knee pain. And a special thanks goes to one of our own, Technick, who has helped me out significantly in almost every question and decision I've made in my whole process, from boots, to bindings, to board model, and to getting it all setup. And I can't thank him enough for creating the badass graphics I had put on the board. So if you need graphics done, I highly recommend PMing him for his service. Plus, he works with Bruce so no additional cost for an "outside graphics designer"! So now it's time to figure out this whole EC thing. piusthedrcarve
It's been a quiet hassle (but super lucky) to acquire this board, Endeavor "Hammerhead." As posted in "other tread, I was blown away by this board (shorter) for softboot carving and decided to give full detail review with a proper size one. I'll give my thought on this regarding ride characteristics from their constructions once I have proper softboot bindings. Hopefully, I can compare with other modern softboot specific snowboards that are popular for us, as hardbooters. Dan
Allow me to present my brand spanking new Thirst Snowboards 7.1 Semiconductor. 175 cm length, 20 cm waist, topsheet by Rafaella Vaz. It took me a long time to figure out just what I wanted, but both Thirst and Rafaella did great work and the wait was worth it! the topsheet has an iridescent quality that's hard to capture in a photo, but it really looks great. Looking forward to its maiden voyage tomorrow.

I tried my new Secret 180 in a few varying conditions - I just couldn't reliably bend the thing. :( BIG turns only. Neither Sean nor I understand what's different from my Rev 180 demo ride (I'm now ~10 lbs heavier and stronger), but per the typical awesome Donek customer service I'm going to demo a standard Secret 180 in Aspen before we decide the next steps. Today was a soft groom day locally. 2-4" of fresh fell yesterday, which was groomed into the old snow. Felt like Colorado snow! I took out the 180 Secret on a whim. Yup, it's good in those conditions! Just like the Rev I tried in Aspen, but more damp. A large selection of turn radii are available on command. It's very quiet underfoot, just doing the business of turning while ignoring chop. Quite a refined ride! It did not have that exciting pop/kick out of the turn; it just turned until I changed edges. It's the polar opposite of a Proteus. You need to make your own excitement with line selection. ;) Neat board!
