Pleased to be able to contribute in this section of the forum with this morning's arrival: Donek Proteus 170.  Freshly tuned and mounted in preparation for rope-drop at the Beav tomorrow morning.

I had that exact same board.  The topsheet graphic is awesome.  It rode like a dream in the right conditions.  Enjoy!

Congrats! I'll be riding one of those tomorrow.  They're fun!

Looks like some kind of dovetail joint.  Crazy thin.

Here's some more pictures. No, just plain sliders.  The plate attaches to the thick slider which itself is attached to the thin slider.  There's a "rail" that allows the thick slider to move along the thin slider.  Notice that the thin slider is thicker on one end (towards the nose)

Here's the new baby. This is a Coiler VSR AM 165 with the nose stretched a bit to make it 167.  It's the XT sidecut (9/11/10), 22 cm waist, 16 mm taper.  The nose has what Bruce terms the AM decamber but the tail has a race decamber and has been softened.  This board is designed for steep bumps and tight conditions.  The tail design (taper, decamber, softened, rounded corners) should help it release easier, skid when I need it to and not get hung up in the bumps.  Bruce claims it still carves well (he test-drove it in the rough).

Interesting.  Do they provide replacement sliders?  Seems like it would be a pretty cheap part made on CNC.
