breeseomatic
I had a rivet break and all the boot rental and fitting shops I visited can't peen the aluminum rivet over the washer because they don't have the tools. I have Deeluxe replacement parts waiting for me in a plastic baggie, I just don't know how to replace the rivet.Any thoughts? Also the other rivet on the other boot is a bit loose so I'd like to replace that one too, but how does one break it loose? Beckmann AG
No shop has a hammer and anvil? Find a large ball-pein hammer, jam it across the ankle pocket such that the ball end settles into the concavity of the new rivet, and then smack one ankle rivet or the other with another hammer until the upset is complete. You can most likely re-set the loose rivet in the same manner.
SEJ
I've replaced broken rivits with a tee nut, machine screw, and washer. I think it's actually stronger than the rivit. Just be sure to use locktite on the thread. There's a post somewhere about this.

Aspen Sports at the base of Snowmass did this for me for my last day on the mountain. I may just replicate their solution. Thanks for all the info on this guys.
