howdy all

cooling down alittle and maybe some snow in the higher elevation in glacier national park in a few days.

Construction of Flower Point ski lift hits halfway mark. so more fun runs to look foward to and it should

hold up better when the frontside gets funky snow. runs are narrow and better for softboots.

happy halloween!... what a funny day... had to work today and it got foggy
in the early morning then warmed up around noontime. forcast for today was
around the 60's then gets really cold saturday then snow by sunday. so went
for a paddle about 4pm to 6pm had dinner then took a nap then went out to the
bar. did not dress up, but still had fun watching everybody. today might be the
last time i get to paddle, but i'm ok with it, i'm ready for super cold weather and
huge dumping snow, bring it on...

howdy cuban
you should be thinking about staying here longer, at least two weeks or more.

worked today, daylight savings time changed last night so an hour later
to work and the sun was out already. while at work in the morning it began
to rain then slowly changed to snow by noontime with some big flakes coming
down then back to light rain by 2pm. got back and checked the webcam
and was happy to see a good dump on the summit. everyone at work was
in a good mood... 34 more days... here's a pic...

can you say "polar vortex"... yesterday rained all day here in town then
snow by nighttime. just a dusting in the valley and temps are very cold
today. pulled some boards out and waxed a few and need to do the rest.
should get in the single digits tonight and highs in the teens tue./wed.
went for a paddle last thursday and it was nice in the upper 50's.
this cold spell really changed the mind set and now it's offically winter.
forcast is below average this week. here's a pic...

Day 2 of the Whitefish ski season. Day 1 was a bust for me since the temps were frigid, cloudy, wind was howling, and I started too late. I let it get too dark then lost my goggles in a tumble (had them up on my helmet so I could see), then couldn't find them and ended up walking down in the dark. Today was better but not great. Still frigid, but less wind and the sun was out. Found my goggles on the way up, and had first top to bottom run of the season. Hard, wind-packed snow -- summit depth would be about 2 feet, except for all the wind scoured rocky spots. Took a few dings and scrapes on the way down. The extruded base PBR board is good for rocks, but it sucks at pow; very hard to keep the nose up on a stiff little 156 twin. Maybe I should check out the pawn shops for something rockered....

not much snow from my last report. it's been bluebird the last few days
and really cold in the mid teens. last night just before 12am a 4.5 earthquake
shook the house. report says 5 miles beneath whitefish. on tuesday nov. 11
a 4. magnitude earthquake shook a town southwest of here at 3:30pm.
forcast is some snow wed,thu,fri... boards are stacked up ready to mount
the bindings...

The week of frigid sunny weather has given way to a mostly cloudy day and temps reaching back to the 20's again. Still milking the one snowfall from a week ago, but warmer temps will kill lower Toni Matt pretty quickly without more snow.

I did shoot some video the last couple days so I can share with Steve the conditions that some of us are willing to ride. What's surprising to me is that I'm not the only one doing it, even with such sketchy coverage. Day 7 for me and I still see a handful of others doing it every day.

happy thanksgiving everyone. yesterday snowed all day here in town.
woke up to a few inches went to work and it snowed and sometimes it
was icy rain and gave us a few more inches. today a little warm in the
40's, but by the weekend it should snow and the artic air from the north
will make its way down. well, my last post got wiped out, but with
yesterday's dump this post is better. here's a pic... icing on the cake...
