tangaloor
waiting for my new gear to arrive in the mail after a season of freeriding... i feel just like christmas eve when i was a kid. anyway, looking for some instructors in vancouver, bc or whistler. anybody have any experiences: good, bad, indifferent? any internet resources that can help out? my plan at the moment is to contact fanatyk in whistler & ask them, but i thought you all would be the ones to know... a listing like this might be a good idea in the welcome centre, too... cheers k
Jack M
Good point. I've had this idea in the back of my head for a while. We'll try to make it happen soon.
Neil Gendzwill
I can tell you from bitter experience that just signing up for "advanced" lessons won't cut it. For carving, you need to have a name otherwise you're likely to be wasting your time and money.
Mark.Andersen
I heard the Darren Chalmers (former CDN national team?) was doing private lessons in Whistler. I tried to connect with him for a lesson but timing of my Whistler trip didn't work out. Email Prior Snowboards for his contact info. Guest zaphod
In previous seasons I have met two of the hardboot riding instructors at whistler, but i have no idea if they are still there or even what their names are. if you call the mountain though they will hook you up. of course if you just want to ride, you can hook up with the CarveItUp.net crew 13-15 Dec when we drop in for the annual Whistla' Warm-up! can't promise we'll teach you anything, but at least we ride hard in the hard boots! Fleaman
I took some lessons at Sunshine Village in Banff with a harbooter, it cost a mint but was really worth it.
