GeoffV
different (plate specific, it seems) baseplates at this store as well: That is the "lower" cant plate intended to be used for the Boiler Plate. It lowers the stack height, this was out last season. Edited December 7, 2012 by GeoffV

TLN
opps, for a second look they're right ;) at first look i thought reciever is made of two halves which moves independently.

Hans
Nice to see SI Sidewinders but i don't agree with using them on a plate. Because?
Corey
Those look like prototypes to me. I'll be placing my order once they're available. Because? Plates cure male pattern baldness, eliminate the need for Viagra, slow global warming, help you find your lost car keys, reduce arguments with your wife/husband/pets, and give you a positive outlook on life. ;)
Miltie
The Bomber Japan website says the SW-SI will be released this season but they are delayed - please wait. So.... the Japan market is waiting (just like us) for when Fin is ready to sell them. I would imagine there is some special production tooling required and what is shown in the photos are prototypes. Knowing Fin, these will be well engineered and well built. It will be worth the wait.

If I had known this all..... And I am gonna use it with a SW SI, because it's just looking awesome to step in-out like 007.
lowrider
Because Because thats why !:) Many factors determine the personal preference or feel of a plate. The initaial offering of plates were very stiff this was evident very quickly and identified as an inability to peddle at slow speed. (another point of debate as you can overcome this with time). You may aleviate this trait with Side Winders but it is isolating the rider from the true action of the plate itself ( not important to many) but i think it's interesting ( maybe just to me). Sidewinders without a plate all the time. Side winders on a stiff plate is better than stiff bindings on a stiff plate. However once you have tried a variety of options it became my preference to have a stiff binding TD1 SI's on a flexible plate, Swithching from a Glass to Metal coiler was the real eye opener. A plate will let you overpower the board most of the time especially if the plate is stiff. My preference is a stiff binding on a soft plate and i can see what the plate is doing under my feet. Bending as i draw my knees together. Twisting as toe to heel preasure changes. As your speed increases these movements happen fast enough you won't see most of them but having transitioned from plates made of cut up decks to building them from scratch i prefer to see the movement of the plate. I also have proof positive MPB is not cured with plates much as i wish it would. Everything else Corey mentions is true!
