Odd Job
Taken from early last season, first season on hardboots, realized I ran out of real estate during a EC toeside. I slid off trail and my head ran right into a snow maker. Helmets save lives! :D I find this vid extremely funny.

Odd Job
You are so lucky that didn't happen in slush btw, :P
garybergmann
Yeah, I did that in slush last year...I still think one of my ribs isn't quite in the right place from the slam to the snow. Not long after that I got my chest/back protector...
darko714
NoirX252: I've seen you walk away from worse wrecks. I'm worried for the snow maker.
DrCR
Not long after that I got my chest/back protector... I need to look into that. I thought about springing for this route, but $360 is rather steep. Xion Protective Gear Jacket
garybergmann
I wound up going with a basic vest with a spine protector and foam for chest/ribs. I think it was about $100. It added a little bulk, but not enough to slow me down...and it got my confidence back...not only with the body slams, but also around the straight liners that come out of my blind spot... OhD
I can see it already: A straightliner smacks you down, gets hurt and sues you. His lawyer observes that you were wearing armor in the expectation of collisions. The jury infers (as intended) that you intended to have collisions and finds you at fault. Get a personal liability insurance policy to go with your spine protector.
garybergmann
No, no...you didn't check my location. I'm in Canada. The collision would happen, we'd apologize to each other repeatedly while waiting to be air lifted off the hill, and then go on with our lives. Anyway, I've taken this OT...
