AaronG
I know that is has been talked about on the old message board but I need to know if the dates had ever been finalized for the UES. I will be coming up from Southern Cal and staying with my bro in Riverton. I just need to know the dates so I can book my flight. Also, did you ever finalize decisions on where we will be riding? I know that lots of resorts were suggested.
Skully
Yep, we have talked a lot about it, but not solidified any dates. So, anyone interested, SPEAK UP! Late January, or early February, in between ECES and SES, that's my vote. As for places to ride? The Canyons, Park City are my votes. Others have suggested Snow Basin and Solitude as well. If we don't have an "Official" expression session, I'm sure you could hook up with a few of us when you get here anyway...

tilledog
Sounds goot. Thanks for getting around to it. I have a startup hardboot retail company here in Salt Lake. I am starting to make some good contacts with gear. I should be able to get some hardware for the event. I have a thought for a name too! tilledog
It's kinda gay..... Hardbooter's Ball?
utahcarver
Do we have any sponsors yet? I realize that this event is in the planning stages still and may end up being impromptu. But, if we could get some local Salt Lake sponsorship, that could be very helpful in the future. REI, Garts, Salty, who else? What about group discounts for PC, Canyons, or Basin? I'm happy to help. Has someone already started looking into some local or distant help?
tilledog
I'll sponsor it as much as I can. I will speak to the resorts, some manufacturers and such in the near future. We're working on getting our website up right now. Within a couple of weeks we should be rollin. Davo
tilledog
We'll dedicate a page on our site to the event also. For now it'll be the "hardbooter's ball" I'm open for name suggestions though. I would love if it was unique though ie not UES. This'll be fun to put together. Skully
Just wanted to put my vote in for the dates, they sound good to me. I also have a limited ammount of discount tickets to The Canyons, but I don't know how many I will have left by March, but, for those interested, first come, first serve, they are yours. AaronG
I just spoke to my bro in Rivertin and he is pumped about carving with other guys in the area. He says he doesn't like carving cuz he is usually the only one at the resort that he goes to. I might need a ride one day as I don't thik my brother can get all those days off, Is that possible form one of you Utah locals?
eddie
Where does your brother ride at? He can ride with any of us and thus would have no excuse to not carve. Where are you carving at Bear, Summit, Mt. (gettin') High, or dare I say Baldy? I used to ride at all of them but I got tired of the crowds. AaronG
I ride Summit quite a bit, Bear has turned into a jibber's smorgasboard. Summit bought Bear last season and they decided to put all the jibbers there by building them a huge terrain park, pipes, rails, boxes, sacks, suitcases, whatever you want to call them. Summit now becomes more family oriented and more carver friendly too! I also head up to Mammoth whenever I get the chance to do so.
eddie
Let us know when your hardboot retail is set up so we support fellow utah hardbooters. You know, we could by things or if you have a store we could hang out all the time wishing we had the money.:p Eddie
eddie
I heard the story from my little bro that Summit purchased Bear. He is a crazy jibber but got tired of the crowds; I convinced him to move up here to the holy land and now I try to convert him from his sins. Repentence through hardboots.;) Eddie
mellowjonny
I dont know about the name--I think it needs to be a bit tougher. I'll think about it
eddie
I talked to my wife about the SES and to my suprise, she sounded like she supports it (kinda). But brother, it will come down to this: SES or UES and I am leaning toward the Utah brotherhood. I have too much to dream about.
