I use small cheap walkie talkies (Motorola T100) with a button-press beep function (they all have this). I head down a run and my buddy beeps me if a straightliner is coming so I can pull over. I do the same looking up the run for him. I still look up the hill, but the beep has already alerted me to some hill bombers already.
