SunSurfer
Just looking through some of Johnasmo's videos from the last 2 SES. There's a whole lot of videos off the Snowmass - Elk Camp lift. Looks like that's a favourite! Which runs are people's favourites at Aspen's 4 mountains. What should be on an Aspen "to ride" list? Corey
I've got to explore a lot more this year, I've just followed others for the most part. Your favourite run will depend on how steep you like it. Elk camp is really cool with the few trees they've left behind. It would be a so-so blue run if it weren't for the trees, but they make it a blast!

trent
here's a list of my favorite runs, in no particular order.... any with a camera on it! mellow's post should be edited as he's almost as bad. barring a photo op, i agree with the dido crew, and i'd add: snowmass - sheer bliss if it's groomed well (and the rocks from last year are covered). buttermilk - anything that's groomed off the tiehack lift ajax - copper bowl. do not miss first tracks at ajax! a natural half-pipe filled with 70 carvers taking turns whoo-hooing each other. :D here's a great post i used my first few trips. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=9836&highlight=text+tour -trent

This is 100% worth the extra effort to get up a little earlier on Monday and Friday. It is such an amazing environment!
Coldrider
...of course! In NZ first tracks runs are extra on top of a standard lift ticket. I can't see pricing anywhere for first tracks in Aspen, just sign on and turn up. it seems too good to be true! Ray
It’s part of the SES. No charge, just be there on time or you loose. It started several years ago when Fin was able to convince Aspen Skico they need a bunch of crazy cavers on the hill and basically destroy one of their most famous runs before anyone else could make some decent turns
queequeg
I tend to ride a lot of the same trails over and over again, something I am trying to change this year. But here are my favorites (I hope I have the names all right). I tend to just never pay attention to the trail names so I'm never really sure what trail I'm on. Golden Horn ->Thunderbowl @ Highlands is among my favorites for sure. That is fun fun fun. There is a cat track at Highlands that a bunch of trails bottleneck into (just after Kandahar??) that leads you to a fantastic series of long, moderately pitched slopes that are just perfect for caving. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't read the trail map. At snowmass I really like Ute Chute, Velvet Falls (right before the little tunnel yes??), the Big Burn Trails. Not really a big fan of Elk Camp though I do think it's pretty. Slot to Campground is fun too. Aspen: Ruthies. Not as big a fan of copper bowl and Spar Gulch. I want to explore AJAX more this year. SunSurfer
4 mountains, so many trails, so little time. Thanks for the tips on where to look first, before I go exploring. SunSurfer
two_ravens
Elk Camp is nice for flat light days - mellow terrain and the trees make it easier to see. +1 on first tracks, but be heads up - pretty crazy with so many carvers ready to rip it up on one run. Have fun!!!!
