Flywalker
Rys... lf you make it out here next year drop me a line. Two other BOL'ers came out earlier this year and had an EPIC holiday based in Niseko. l joined them for a day at Rusutsu and took them to a great sushi restaurant here in Sapporo the night before they flew home. You could contact tpalka and Mats through here for some info on their experience. l'm sure they'd be more than happy to tell you about their trip (^_^)
Rys
Will do. And if you ever make it to the central rockies by all means get in contact. I really want to visit. Seems like to take it all in one would need to spend at least 2 weeks. If only your season was opposite of ours. Heading up shortly to test Fin's Boiler Plate. But later I will start to do a bit of research of the areas you mentioned. Vary kind regards, Rys
Hilux
Sorry a little off topic here but wah, you guys in Japan okay from the earthquake? Don't know where you are exactly...if power is on or have communications. Apparently they've shut down a few nuclear power plants as a precaution so many have no power. Hope all is well given the situation...
Masahiko
Hilux, There is no problem here in Hokkaido . But the area around nothern Honshu had big damages and many people were killed by the quake.:( Government says that it was the biggest earthquake we've ever met.... Hilux
Glad to hear you're alright. It looks like it's the eastern...or pacific coast that was affected eh? So Hokkaido was fairly isolated from the major hit? This is just devastating and sad as this continues to unravel...:(

murphy12
Some sites/links where donations can be made are showing up. Need to be careful to find one that is legit, however. Scooby, were any effects felt in Vancouver?
CarvingScooby
Scooby, were any effects felt in Vancouver? Nop, not even the high wave that was expected hit west coast of Vancouver Island. BC Tsunami advisory has been lifted, thx for checking. But what's worrying is the explosion at ***ushima Nuclear Power Plant, where it released dust/vapour that it might contain radioactive. They just extend the safe zone from 10km to 20 km around the plant. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=33971 RT
