Gtanner Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Has anyone used the K2 T1 softboots? I need a new set of softies and these felt fantastic in the shop…nice and stiff. The question now is whether or not the dual boa system can be trusted? I’m ok with the internal one for the inner-liner, but if the external one broke on a mountain, I’d be screwed, whereas I could manage with a broken lace for the day. They offer two models, one with a dual boa, and one with a single one (internal only). I'm leaning toward the single-boa model Any thoughts? Also, this boot has intuition liners. I’ve never had moldable liners on softboots, so I’m wondering if I should expect the same fit as I get with my hardboots…such as expecting a half-size pack-out within the first 5ish days. Thanks, Gord Quote
Gtanner Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Posted December 4, 2010 Nothing? Ok, so could someone post/PM with experiences surrounding packing out thermo liners in soft-boots? Thanks, Gord Quote
BobD Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Nothing?Ok, so could someone post/PM with experiences surrounding packing out thermo liners in soft-boots? Thanks, Gord Thermos in soft boots are usually the thinner kind, so there is less liner material to pack out. Quote
inkaholic Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 I don't think you have to worry much about the BOA system much, those little cables are quite strong. I ran a set of DC boots with a dual BOA system (upper and lower sections of the outer boot) that were great. I wish my Malamutes were set up the same way. Dial in the feel you want and forget about it till time for removal. Good stuff right there. Ink Quote
Gtanner Posted December 8, 2010 Author Report Posted December 8, 2010 Folks, So in doing my diligent shopping around, I have found that these boots are $100-150 more expensive in Canada (go figure). And unfortunately, there is an agreement between each of the online stores with K2 that says that they cannot ship internationally. Would anyone be willing to recieve the boots in the Western part of the States and send them accross the border to Canada via USPS? I'll obviously pay all the shipping and would even throw you a couple bucks for your time. Thanks, Gord Quote
b0ardski Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 I'm in North Idaho and would be happy to be a re-shipper for your boots. email me thru bomber or call. 208-six one oh-2169 addy Troy Moore 149 Meadowood Rd. Sandpoint ID. 83864 LMK Quote
b0ardski Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Gord, boots are on their way Sat. and what sweet boots they are. Much stiffer than drivers, nice hard leather with stiff fuzzy lined intuitions. If I did softies I'd be very jealous:p Quote
BigBump Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Been running boas for around 6 seasons now. I've never had a problem with them. They so much more comfortable than laces, especially the "focus boa" system which has seperate upper and lower zones. To me it would be no brainer... Quote
