Hi guys,

I have a mate in the US at the moment who will be traveling to NYC and possibly Toronto very soon.

He said he could buy me a carve board and bring it back to Australia.

Can anyone help with any shops he could go to for me? I'm after a demo All Mountain (like a Prior 4WD) or similar (up to say, $400?). I might also get him to pick me up some good step in bindings and maybe some heat mouldable boot linings

Postage is a killer to Australia, so I appreciate any help.

And if anyone lives in NYC/Toronto and has a board or good step in bindings to sell to a sad Aussie bloke who lives miles away from the home of Alpine Snowboarding, I could get my mate to meet you and hand over some hard earned!

Cheers!

Pete.

I think they have some links on their site to some alpine friendly shops. But all in all we're as screwed here in North America for finding a location to buy gear as most other places.

I've never Googled it so don't know exactly where Coiler (www.coiler.com) is located in Ontario but they are near Toronto as well. Bruce normally builds custom boards but his wait list is like a year long. You might want to talk to Bruce and see if he had some demo models or prototype boards around that your friend could pick up. I love my Coiler Schtubby. You never know maybe Bruce wants to break into the Aussie market, except then his wait list would get longer

BTW I've dropped in to see YYZCanuck a couple of times when I've passed through. Dave and Andrea are great.

I'm not volunteering anyone but some cool BOL'ers live in NYC and Toronto. Maybe, IMO, the better approach is to keep eyes peeled on BOL classifieds until you see what you like, buy, then have shipped to a BOL'er in either city, depending on country from which shipping originates. Just a thought.

If you want to purchase something from Prior's demo or stock board list, have him ship to me. I'm only 20 minutes from the Toronto airport and can meet up. As others suggested, you could also arrange to purchase something from yyzcanuck and they could package it up for you.

Thanks Chris, you guys are the best. I'll let you know how I go. My mate is not sure whether he'll get to Toronto from NYC, but we'll see.

I've posted a wanted message on the Wanted part of the site and have my fingers crossed!
