piusthedrcarve
Merecedes e class 4matic :1luvu:wagon 99-03. That's what I drive (02 model). I never thought it can haul anything other than bicycles. There are not much clearance between body and real tires. But.. I love mine. Perfect for my hobby (golf/snowboarding)
MUD
Since the BMW has been introduced, I will let this one out. Mercedes G Wagen. The G500 is expensive and bad gas mileage, but the older straight six's are very good (G320). The diesels are REALLY good. The G is pretty much the most competent 4WD ever produced for civilian use. Just another one to look into. VERY solid vehicles.
shawndoggy
NG I've come full circle on this thread.... For what you want I think you are right about the V8 4Runner being the best compromise.

But we can still keep throwing out ideas to confuse him..... I think you can't go wrong with the 4runner.
Neil Gendzwill
The G is pretty much the most competent 4WD ever produced for civilian use.Yeah, but I don't care about the off-road capabilities of this vehicle. The most off-road it's going to get is gravel. The only reason I'm looking at stuff like the 4Runner is it seems it needs to be body on frame to have any reasonable tow capacity.
