I was contemplating getting a metal board over the summer but i am still trying to get my technique sorted out as I am just getting back into carving. I bought a metal board this year expecting it to fix some of the problems I had. Surprise surprise; The problems were still there with the metal board, though they may have been toned down slightly. It made me a better rider as I shifted the focus even more to myself instead of the equipment. I would have no reservations putting a brand new rider on a metal or fiberglass board.
