crucible
During the winter - my family has to put up with 3-5 boards in our spare bathroom at any given time, with the other 8 down in storage. When I go on business trips during the winter, I usually roll with a minimum of 2 boards, a freeride board in the 160-164cm range and an alpine board of the same length. A powder board comes along as a back-up if the weather report looks promising. Catek OS2's base plates are on all my EDC boards.

Dude, that is the most incredible powder board collection I have ever heard of; right on! Cool thread; gorgeous collection photos from years past. Theres 11 boards kicking around my living room right now: I have 3 165cm Winterstick Swallowtails on the wall, two green boards (one is "mint", never mounted, never ridden, with a Swallowtail case), and a maroon/green board. I wish I still had my other old Swallowtails, Roundtails, Burton woody, and the Fanatic UltraRat 159cm that pioneered some Wasatch steeps back in the day (early 90s), under the boots of Danny Caruso and myself. Other retired boards: Duret 165cm World Cup Asym, with antique two piece Snow Pro plates on it; what a pain in the a$?! to mount those! Hobie Double Edge 162- this has 4 edges - ever see one? Rode great, but impossible to really tune. Current all mountain boards: Liquid 162cm Adventure: an $90 special from a Gart SNIAGRAB, wood core Austrian board with a couple hundred days on it now; this has been a workhorse. Volkl 164cm Sensor Aircore: My Hawaii-bound buddy Mike just gave me this board; loving it in the Pow Mow sidecountry today Mike! Heal that knee! Joyride 165cm: couldn't pass up a bargain rock board last month; like the name; too bad they went out of business. Carving boards: Nidecker Extreme Race GS 170 cm: loving this board at Snowbasin recently. Nidecker Extreme GS 184cm: this board has some top sheet and insert damage; may be destined for the wall. Foss (made by Prior) ~185 cm: this is a beautiful black and red board; will have to get some photos. Cheers! WasatchBill

mtnpig
I liked looking at the lengths of the boards posted and did not see much long stuff. Here goes: Sims Burner 198 Sims Burner 188 (a favorite) Rossi WC190 Coiler RC184 (the ultimate battle wagon) Rentiger RT178 Donek FC179 Donek FC171 Coiler AM172 F2 Silberwhatever 167 Osin 4807 178 Osin 4807 168 Burton Asym 164 Rossi RC167 I still can't turn worth a crap so I seem to prefer riding the longer lengths that handle the speed much better. Not enough!! Hey Canuck - which Mistral is it? I won't pimp you for it I promise. If it is the Ecstasy asym regular ( gold and black top sheet) it would make me happy just to know that a mint board is out there. I went through three of these, with one which can be ridden but not mounted up with binders and definitely not mint. Put one down in Powder Rock Glade at CB - took 4 inches out of the heel edge on the reef that starts about 20 feet in. Another one down in Frenchman's trees in SV. Did an ebrake stop with board out in front to stop from hittin a tree. Had that new reverse camber technology after that. My first favorite board. Great thread revival. big canuck
Its a Mistral Sonic with "Fully Integrated Rattle Eliminator" even says it right on the topsheet. The fools who have paid a cajillion dollars for their metal boards should try this technology!!! Who's laughing now!! Ha ha! It is a nice board though. SnowSpeedster
I have a friend in Oregon who has something like 40 boards, it's amazing. You go in his house and they're all stacked along the wall about four or five boards thick. No way...I think that 197 Sims Burner in the pic is the same one that Doug bought from me years ago!
