queequeg
Hello All, I will post some photos later on, possibly tonight, possibly on tuesday - but here is what I have: Head Stratos Pros (black), Mondopoint 26: I have performed a number of modifications on the shells, that I will detail below ... but basically: I have released the forward lean on the boots so that the BTS can do its job successfully. These boots have around 75 days on them I would guess, but they're in good shape given their age. I have the stiffer racing tongues and the softer black tongues for both boots. I do not have the spare heel parts. Boot Mods: As they come stock, the HSP boot contains some "wings" in the rear of the boot that limits the forward flex of the boot pretty severely. This hinders flex to the extent that it will prevent (most) riders from being able to achieve a good "home" position where the knees, hips, and ankles are flexed to put you in a neutral/powerful "stacked" position ... as others on this forum have noted: alot of people riding the HSP seem to stand up way too stiff when they ride. I have cut these wings off, and installed a BTS on the boots, such that the flex is now controlled by the BTS springs and not limited by the plastic wings. The result is a night and day difference in the way these boots ride - it is a huge improvement over the unmodified flex characteristics of the boot. I have filled the space that was formerly taken up by the wings with some bootfitters foam. Installing a BTS on the HSP without this mod seems somewhat pointless to me. I will post detailed photos of the boots/mods later, but here is a link that explains the nature of the modifications made. http://bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=190270&postcount=9 Some pictures of the same modification on another pair of boots. Note that I only cut the wing, the "hole enlargement" mod did not seem necessary to me. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=62294&postcount=23 http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=62297&postcount=25 Dalbello God ID Liner, Mondopoint 26. If you've never been in a pair of these before - take it from anyone who has: they kick ass. Warm, Firm Fitting, Slippery inner material that makes it easy to (literally) slide your boots on. They are in pretty good shape but the heels show a bit of wear from rubbing against my boots. They have been cooked 1.5 times (one liner cooked once and the other cooked twice). Plenty of life left in them. These retail for $250. http://www.dalbello.it/ID_Thermo.aspx BTS: Already installed on the boots so you don't have to do anything. BTS comes with a full set of springs: yellow, blue and red. Intec Heels: These are in overall decent condition but have one significant flaw: the heel on the left boot is missing one of the guide tabs (it broke off) - still works fine but probably better with an aluminum receiver than a steel receiver. Booster Straps: Medium stiffness ... not much to say here. They're booster straps. $250 + shipping.
