Albert, I am planning on being there also. My brother and his two boys, my father and I are planning a get together. We will probably do June one day and Mammoth the other days.

On another note, I do have poles also but it sounds like Terry got you some to use. If you need some let me know

... Albert did you get your Coiler yet?

Bruce just sent me an email... ready to be mailed out Monday :eplus2:

Too bad no one will be home to pick up the board since my parents will be out of town for the next 3 weeks and I'll be at work.

As for the trip, I'm not sure if I can make it to June. I'm actually going to be there with the GF - it's her yoga retreat and her gift at the same time (I get to go snowboarding... hehe), although I'll probably end up doing some yoga here and there. I'll know more details when the date nears and when I'm there. I have all of your #s anyway, except yours nekduk (Neil?) - pretty sure we haven't met yet.

Can anyone recommend a place to stay in June, there will be 5 of us. I think a motel might be a bit small. Looking for a condo or something similar. It looks like we will be at Mammoth for Friday and then over to June for Sat and Sun.

I'm staying for the 2nd time at Boulder Lodge. They have condo types with kitchens for rent too. The staff is friendly and I like their dogs. Plus the hot tub is a huge winner for me :eplus2:

Don't know if I'm going to make it to June Mt.

I'll definitely at Mammoth on Friday and most likely Saturday (if not at June instead). I'll be at the slopes at 9am (not opening unfortunately) on Stump, St. Anton's, Saddle Bowl, Broadway, and I don't know what else - the Wall and the other two runs setup next to the Wall/Broadway (normally where they hold the races).

I might make it for an afternoon half day on Thursday (not too sure yet - I'll post up on Wednesday when I know for sure).

Check out gold rush, its the lift adjacent to Stump Alley (if it's still open)

It's my favorite run at mammoth, especially in fresh powder.

NOOO Chair 12! No crowds and you can mix up the trees and carving! In my opinion, it's the best place to be ANYTIME in Mammoth!

That's the one.

And also Chair 5, which is halfway down 12.

It takes you up to Soltice (the top of 12, steeper run) and you can do laps on it.

Nice carving run

Chair 3 (face lift) and laps on Saddle bowl was one of the one's I liked. Chair 12 is nice too. I figure I'll have most of the mountain to myself on Thursday.

I might switch up what we do and do snowmobiling on Saturday and a half day boarding on Sunday. We're staying at Convict Lake, which is about 10 miles out of Mammoth.

You're thinking 10, not 12. That's Gold Rush Express. The only thing part of the way down 12 is Sesame Street. :)

Ooo, that is a pretty nice place with a fabulous restaurant. The views are spectacular with Mt. Morrison casting a huge presence over the Lake. Take your ice skates, do some laps on Convict Lake!!

looks like saturday will be a powder day

Neil you know the area better than me, if it's a powder day should we still go to June? what do you suggest?

Bullwings, didn't see you yesterday. I was near main lodge when the top finally opened and got a little bit of the goods, but even mid-week, it got tracked out almost instantly.

carvingchef, occupancy in Mammoth this weekend is 78% which is crowded but not killer. The powder hounds will be out in full affect though, and tonight's drive up may be a hairy one. June will have good pow in the trees, and it looks like it will be less windy over there tomorrow. I'm afraid that Mammoth may have some lift closures (especially up top) from the wind, so June may be a better bet. Your best plan is to check conditions in the morning. If Mammoth is fully open, head there and maybe spend time over by 13/14. If many lifts are closed due to weather, go to June.
