www.oldsnowboards.com Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Photos of either Bent or Broken boards. Good shots of boards in use being bent, or being broken. Basically a "Crash and Burn" series. Although well bent boards in action are the focus. Please don't take this as an invitation to go out and "Eat" it. :) Quote
Mellow Yellow Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 There was a shot of this in action I thought... but I can't find it... Way to go Geoff Quote

JK moscraciun Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 OK! No action here just a consequence of soft condition and to much pressure on the nose > read lousy rider Complete fail of a new school raceboard on the very first day on snow! I'm ordered 2 since ;-) Quote
*Ace* Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 The second board I ever owned. Cratered nose first after popping off a ridge. Burton Floater 155 Soon to be funky skate deck! Quote
CarvingScooby Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Photos of either Bent or Broken boards. :) Not BENT nor BROKEN but RIPPED off almost all of the insertand broke one of the "leaf" TD2 disk & bent the others. Dave found us a bit later. We learned about Roy's spectacullar fall/cartwheel on Raven's side. Apparently broken board and one of the TD2 bases, however the monster came out of it unshattered. Maybe we'll hear the full story out of the horse's mouth - c'mon uncle Scooby, we need the story! Cypress Mountain, March 08 - Half way on First Sun or #3 Run following Dave* on steeper part abt 25-30 degree slope after the hidden cat tracks. Finishing my toe side, nose point about 5-10 degree down the slope. Just about switching into heel turn, board just jammed or stop or I don't know what's happening,.. what I do know I was tumbling 360 and stop still on that steep part. Back on my feet and finish the run. I just noticed something isn't right with my forward binding when abt to line up back on the chair. And I found this Don't ask me how I did it. But what Ive learned, I noticed the leaves have different thickness. Anyone can comment on this? Last pix is the position of the disk when it happend. Quote
*Ace* Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I like how you kept the "quality control" sticker on the board. Lucky it happened to the binding and board and not you. Quote
Bullwings Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 3 day old Prior 4WD. I stuffed the nose into a mogul mound. I was very happy my legs/body were fine after that. Quote

Randy T. Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Forward disk: was it position at an angle?Thx. Roy My front binding was set up around 62 degrees. Is that what you are asking? Quote
CarvingScooby Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 My front binding was set up around 62 degrees. Is that what you are asking? Sorry, the Cant disk angle (not the base plate). Thanks Roy Quote
Randy T. Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 I just run the cant discs with toe and heel lift so they are aligned with my binding angles within 5 degrees if not straight on. If you are wondering if the bindings or the setup had anything to do with the break they did not. Quote
crack676 Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 This is my Genius in action. Some days later, it's broken after a failed landing... Quote
www.oldsnowboards.com Posted January 13, 2010 Author Report Posted January 13, 2010 This is my Genius in action. Some days later, it's broken after a failed landing... Looks narrow? Nice photo!! Quote
Bullwings Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 guess I might as well add another one... It looks minor, but it's cracked to the core... Quote
crack676 Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 Yes, it's quite narrow. About 14-15cm in the middle. I really like narrow boards, they're more versatile I think. Quote
