scrutton Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 I race in the Crescent Ski Council (CSC) race series - slalom and GS, long poles define the race course. The racing series I am in, is in the south East (NC/WVA). Here's what I'm getting from the organisers :- "If you have an interest in helping or advising on how we can secure more snowboard racers please contact me." "Know any other snowboarders who would be interested in racing? I’ve been primarily targeting skiers for recruitment." So, any ideas on how to boost numbers? The CSC series which is popular in the South East is a bit of a pain for folks that might want to do an impromptu race or two, as it involves being on a team, and worse still qualifying to be on a team. Neither of these are negotiable. Frankly, the only folks I 'ride' with on a regular basis are on ski's. While I know a snowboarder or two, I don't think many of them have much interest in racing. I see about 2 other snowboarders who regularly come out for racing in our local series. Maybe posting on something like the 'Ride' board would be good? Advertising in stores has crossed my mind. What other ideas do folks have? Cheers, Paul Quote
