Perlyshko Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Hello Everyone! After a hot summer I am finally back here in the forum with new and essential questions. I spent summer playing with skateboard, more as a beginner than an extreme skate junky just to practise a bit my back turn. Yesterday, being tortured by nostalgia for snow, I took out my UPZs and SG and mounted myself in and on, although it is far away till my next snow vocations. Anyway, I found, that rear binding angle does not fit my foot anymore. I felt more comfortable on flatter angle than I had before - 45 degree it was. I changed it to 25 degree now, while the front binding stayed on its 50 degree. Moreover, I found that the recommended angle for board is 5 degree less than I have(45* max)! Well, F2 also do not recommend angle for front binding more than 45, and for rear - 38. So, I AM LOST! Would anyone, please, advise me if this angle range(50* for front and 25* for rear) is fine for carving? And should I set angles to recommended ones in the manual to both items? SG CULT is pure carving board and recommended angles are up to 45* only. Thank you for any advices and enjoy the snow if you are lucky to have it around at this time of a year. Quote
Transistor Rhythm Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 See: http://www.truesport.cz/boards/boards_cult.html Seems to be OK Quote
tex1230 Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 playing with stance angles is part of the process. Whatever works best for you is fine, but I would caution against a 25 degree splay - only because that (25/50 stance) has the potential for knee strain - it would kill me. but maybe for your legs it is correct. Oh, and taking your stance angles from some chart or manufacturer's reccomendation is silly. Quote
inkaholic Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Heels and toes over the edge. Not dangling over but right on top for pressuring. Very little overhang if any. After you figure out what works for you then write down the numbers for future reference. Ink Quote
BlueB Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Without seriuos overhang - whatever feels good for you. For years I couldnt carve well with rear angle less then 40 to 45... Then last year I got into more serious bump riding and everything cahnged. 23 wide board, rear angle 25 to 30, made big difference. Carving technique needed a bit of adjustment, but it rules "off-road". However, for narrower board and carving only, I still go back to only 5deg splay... Also that big spaly is typical for Joerg's Pure Boarding style. Search the forum or contact him directly for more details. Quote
