I might be going to Jay Peak for a week during December 19-24 2009.

I was there for new year couple years ago and it's COLD and windy!!

2 days out of the week the lift were on wind hold.

It's probably too early to tell; but questions for those in the area.

What's the condition like in mid/late December?

Carve/powder/rock board?

mid weight /expenditon weight fleece?

Jay used to have a historical/monthly snow fall chart.

However I can't find it on their website now.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments.

No specific data for you, but...

A rock board is usually a good call for Jay especially early and late season.

Bring lots of layers so you can adjust to the conditions of the day. It is often windy at Jay, especially on the upper third of the Flying Freezer.

Don't forget to bring a few handwarmers and toe warmers just in case.

Edit: The Stateside lifts (especially the Jet) are more protected from the wind than the tram and the Freezer (Flyer).
