Dan
Opting out of a Meadows pass for next season has been incredibly liberating -- I can now think about traveling further afield without dwelling on the wasted, paid-for days at Meadows. My wife and I are thinking about doing a 2 week ski vacation next winter, specific location TBD, but anywhere in the West, as far east as say, Montana, would be a possibility. Starting the planning (fantasizing) process early, I thought it might be useful to put together a list of current deals/pricing on 2009-2010 season passes. If you know of any other good deals, post 'em up! And, if you know of spring pass pricing for any of these resorts, I'd love to know about that too. Mt. Hood Meadows (Oregon) $399 unlimited season passes Pricing expires April 26 Spring pass - $99 this year, valid from March 1 to close http://www.skihood.com/pricing/seasonpasses/0910_pass.aspx Mt. Bachelor $799 (yikes) Pricing expires September 30 -Spring pass - $129, March 30 to close http://www.mtbachelor.com/winter/tickets/season_passes/season_passes/index.html Copper/Winter Park + 6 days at Steamboat $399 Pricing expires April 19 http://www.skicolorado.com/ Squaw $369 (some blackout dates at this price) http://www.squaw.com/5060-season-pass Revelstoke $589 CAD (about $480 US today) Pricing expires June 30 http://www.revelstokemountainresort.com/revelstokemtn/info/Season_Pass_Sale.aspx

Steve Prokopiw
Silver has a deal going that works out to 200.00 each if four people go in.Schweitzer's midweek is good at 399.00 since the only blackout day is Saturday and that is a premium place to ride a carving board.Considering how great the place is for carving their full pass is not bad either.Mission Ridge ,where I was just at for AASI stuff has super grooming and a cheap midweek pass.Lookout's full and midweek are way cheap;easy to get bored boarding there though. Buell
Don't overlook Buell and Rebecca's killer plans. Powdermountain and Snowbasin. You will not find any deals at those mountains though, so you better have enough days to make it worth it. Brundage in Idaho has a $259 first time season pass and a $319 season pass if purchased before May 1st. It is a really cool smaller mountain and not too far from home. www.oldsnowboards.com
Heavenly - $329 Rent pretty expensive in South Lake Tahoe? Seems like it would be a great "Base" to work out of ? Kirkwood, Heavenly and all the other great areas nearby.
newcarver
Monarch, CO was giving a deal where you got season pass for $399 and 3 days at 9 other resorts around the west including 1/2 price at Alta for all you skiers. My home mountain, Telluride, 08-09 was $1200 if you bought before the season Probably will go up more for next.
Michael Pukas
Peak Pass - $579 until 4/12/09 - Vail, BC, Keystone, Breck, Heavenly. I think you mean the Epic Pass, and it also includes A-Basin. No restrictions. The price just went up $20 to $599. I've already reserved mine for next year. Best deal Vail Resorts has ever offered - unrestricted seaon pass used to be around $1,800. www.epicpass.com
two_ravens
Grand Targhee in western Wyoming had a "Daylight Savings Season Pass" this spring good from March 8 - April 12 for $199. Jackson Hole might be better carving, but certainly not a better price. Then there is Snow King Resort right in the town of Jackson - with a $30 ski club card (which gets you lots of local discounts) you can get an unlimited season pass for $129. It's a smaller hill, and the grooming was inconsistent this season, but great for those on a budget!

Hey Steve, thanks for the rec. We checked out the trail map and Schweitzer looks pretty awesome -- there's more than enough terrain there to hold us for a week or two. But lodging was kind of $$$, both on the hill and in Sand Point. Do you know of anything on the cheaper side? (Other than the Super 8.) Buell
Hey Dan, Schweitzer is a great mountain. We stayed at the K2 a few years ago. It was very reasonable and we even got a kitchen. Beware of the fog! Buell
