Bordy
If you are riding a vist plate please check your plate to board mounting hardware. There has been some failures with the stock plate to board screws around the race community. The fix is simple, good screws. I spoke with Fin and he has replacements. The screw length is 16. http://www.bomberonline.com/store/bindings/parts_td2_m6_bolt.cfm Be safe and swap them out if and when your screws fail you will rip out and break the plate. Several riders have had luck with burton screws on thicker boards But I would give Fin your money and ride with out fear! I and several others love the vist plate and have put them through the ringer with good screws worry free! B2
pokkis
Are those screws breaking or just getting loose?
piciu
how about screw lenght 14? i got my plates very recently, they came with the plate to board screws size 14. Am I at any risk?
Mike T
I recall reading somewhere that a Vist can be mounted to any board with a 4x2 10 pack insert pattern and doesn't require any special drilling like a Hangl plate. Truth or rumor? Also how much does one of those bad boys weigh?
pokkis
Not fully correct. 4X4 insert patterns should be 50cm distance, or 48 for women. And there is 2 additional inserts in middle of that 50cm distance. Weight is 2.2kg But it is very nice piece, me like it on my NSR
Mike T
Thanks pokkis. I presume Bruce built yours specifically for use with the Vist plate.
pokkis
Yes he added those 2 extra inserts :) and Vist sits there like glove
Bordy
The stock screws strip the threads of the screws, in all cases the board inserts remain usable since the are much harder. The metal of the screws are just much to soft. I am currently at Le Relais for the race to the cup. Lots of happy vist plate riders here!
